Actress Kristine Hermosa's vehicle collided with a red Honda motorcycle, killing a 16-year-old boy and injuring his companion identified as Maicel de Guzman. This is according to a report filed by radio station, DZBB earlier tonight, October 7.
According to Senior Superintendent Fidel Posadas of the Cavite Provincial Police Office, the accident took place at 1:35 p.m. in Governor's Drive in Garita B Village, Maragondon, Cavite.
Posadas stated that Kristine came from a taping when her Hyundai SUV Sta Fe series 2007 with plate number ZKU 327 hit the vehicle of the two victims. Kristine's driver was identified as Francisco Manarang, 32.
The boy identified only by his nickname, Junior, died immediately during the accident while de Guzman, 18, was rushed to the Naic Hospital for treatment. The police report stated that Junior was the one driving the motorcycle and it is highly possible that the minor was just learning how to drive at the time of the mishap.
Veteran comedian and TV host Joey de Leon, according to the report, brought Kristine back to Manila.

Kristine Hermosa still in shock after tragic accident

Actress Kristine Hermosa has offered to help the family of the 16-year-old boy who was killed in a fatal accident Sunday afternoon, October 7, in Cavite. The actress, though, is still in a state of shock over the incident, according to the statement issued by her home network, ABS-CBN.
According to a report by gmanews.tv, Kristine had just left her shoot and she was headed to Quezon City for another appointment when two people on board a red motorcycle tried to overtake their vehicle and cut into the lane, thereby causing the accident.
"It is a most unfortunate incident and Ms. Hermosa and her family are doing everything possible to extend assistance to the families of the motorists. We wish to reiterate that Ms. Hermosa was not behind the wheel when the accident happened," the statement said.
Based on the information given by Senior Superitendent Fidel Posadas of the Cavite Provincial Police Office, the incident took place Sunday afternoon on Governor's Drive in Garita B Village, Maragondon, Cavite at around 1:35 p.m.
The lone fatality from the incident, earlier identified as "Junior," died immediately. The other passenger of the motorcycle, Maricel de Guzman, 18, continues to receive treatment at the Naic Hospital. The driver of Kristine's 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe was identified as Francisco Manarang, 32.
Posadas said that "Junior" was driving the motorcycle but has doubts that the latter has a valid license as he was still a minor.
