Manchester United midfielder to be sent home after one game of year-loan
• Rodrigo Possebon has failed to impress at Braga
• 20-year-old's agent against quick return to Old Trafford
Rodrigo Possebon, Manchester United's Rodrigo Possebon, Manchester United's 20-year-old Brazilian-born midfielder, faces the humiliation of being sent back to England only two months into his year-long loan arrangement with the Portuguese club Braga.
Possebon, who broke into the United first team early last season before being injured in a red-card tackle by Middlesbrough's Emanuel Pogatetz, has played only one match so far for Braga, a Europa League qualifying tie against the Swedish team Elfsborg, and was so poor that the coach, Domingos Paciência, substituted him 34 minutes into a 2-0 defeat.
The teenager, an Italy Under-20 international after qualifying through his father, has been shunned ever since and Paciência has made it clear that he has no future role to play in the team. Braga have subsequently spoken to United about whether it is possible to send him back although the midfielder's agent, Jorge Mendes, is against the move.

United have registered 35 players for this season's Champions League group stages, and it is also positive to note that Owen Hargreaves has been included.
Sir Alex Ferguson's men kick off the new European campaign away to Besiktas on 15 September in Istanbul.
The Reds midfielder isn't due back at the club on 23 September, where it is hoped he will begin the final phase of his recovery tendonitis after surgery on both knees last season.
But it is positive nonetheless that he is being considered for action during the group stages.
Hargreaves has been in America working on his rehabilitation programme over the summer and it would now seem he is nearing the end of a year-long road to recovery.
United's Champions League squad numbers in full are: 1.Van der Sar, 2.Neville, 3.Evra, 4.Hargreaves, 5.Ferdinand, 6.Brown, 7.Owen, 9.Berbatov, 10.Rooney, 11.Giggs, 12.Foster, 13.Park, 15.Vidic, 16.Carrick, 17.Nani, 18.Scholes, 20.Fabio, 21.Rafael, 22.O'Shea, 24.Fletcher, 25.Valencia, 26.Obertan, 27.Macheda, 28.Gibson, 29.Kuszczak.
Additional players registered*: 8.Anderson, 19.Welbeck, 23.J.Evans, 31.C.Evans, 33.Hewson, 36.Gray, 37.Cathcart, 38.Zieler, 39.Chester, 40.Amos.
*UEFA rules permit any player born on or after 1 January 1988 who has been eligible to play for the club for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday to be registered outside of the 25-man squad limit. |

Manchester United asks fans to help end vile chants aimed at Arsène Wenger
• David Gill to raise issue with leading supporters
• United received complaint from Arsenal supporters group
Manchester United are to ask their own supporters for ways to help eradicate the "disgusting" chants that are aimed at Arsène Wenger whenever Arsenal visit Old Trafford.
Wenger was subjected to a chorus of "sit down you paedophile" during Arsenal's 2-1 defeat on Saturday and United are so embarrassed that the club's chief executive, David Gill, is to raise the matter as a lead item with a panel of influential supporters.
The club's official fans' forum is due to hold its first meeting of the season in October and Gill, who will chair the event, will "appeal for ideas as to how to curb it", according to a club spokesman.
United received a complaint from an Arsenal supporters' group after the match but are uncertain about how to tackle the problem when there are so many people taking part.
Philip Townsend, the director of communications at Old Trafford, said: "We have gone on the record – several times – about this disgusting chant. We don't condone it and have appealed to fans several times in the past – through supporters' groups, the matchday programme and MUTV, but to no avail. There are many chants that opposing fans find objectionable, and this is certainly one to which all decent supporters should object."
Wenger has been subjected to the same chants at other grounds but there is a sense at Arsenal that it is worse at Old Trafford even though Sir Alex Ferguson has also appealed to the supporters to put an end to it. He described as "ridiculous" the chants last season, saying "the police should be doing more".
Ferguson added: "They [the police] should be stepping in. But Manchester United and its supporters should also know very well the chants that have been levelled at us over the years – ie, songs about Munich [air disaster] – and understand the sensitivity that is felt by members of this club. I don't agree with it at all. There's enough to think about and admire in the game without resorting to denigrating people."

Amazon have withdrawn a CD of Manchester United chants from sale on its website because of complaints that some of the lyrics are offensive.
The unofficial album 'Manchester United Chants' contains a supporters' song aimed at Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
A statement from Amazon.co.uk explained that Arsenal had complained about the nature of the chants.
It said: "Arsenal Football Club has provided us with formal notice that content within the album 'Manchester United Chants' is defamatory in nature and we have, therefore, removed this title from our website.
"We would not remove a product from our site because some, or many, people find it to be distasteful or otherwise objectionable.
"We believe it is censorship to make a product unavailable for those reasons."
Wenger was sent off during Arsenal's recent 2-1 defeat against Manchester United after he kicked over a water bottle following a disallowed Gunner's goal.
Arsenal supporters have complained that he was then subjected to this particular chant by some Manchester United fans.
Manchester United's director of communications Philip Townsend said: ""We have gone on the record - several times - about this disgusting chant.
"We don't condone it and have appealed to fans several times in the past - through supporters' groups, the matchday programme and MUTV, but to no avail."

Man United ‘threw cash’ at Pogba
Manchester United have been accused of giving cash at Paul Pogba’s parents to facilitate his move to Old Trafford.
Man United reportedly threw £180,000 their way and bought a house for the Pogba family.
The Red Devils allegedly promised the French youngster a starting salary of £16,500 a month when he signs his first signs a professional deal next season.
Pogba's French club, Le Harve, want FIFA to punish United as they did Chelsea for trying to get Gael Kakuta to break his contract with Lens.
The Blues have been hit with a two-year ban from signing players.
Le Harve supremo Jean-Pierre Louvel has claimed that United were guilty of tampering with the transfer of Pogba, even thought the starlet had not signed a pro deal with the Normandy side.
Louvel stressed: "They tempt the parents. In the case of Paul Pogba, it was fairly simple - 100,000 Euros for the father, 100,000 Euros for the mother, and a house."
"There was a legal agreement that he should not be poached."
Le Havre's managing director Alain Belsoeur even claims to have evidence indicating that the Red Devils offered inducements to Pogba and his family.
The Premier League giants have released a statement in response to Le Harve's accusation, claiming that it is "complete nonsense". The club has not publically stated anything since then.
And French trainer Laurent Herpe, who worked with Pogba two years ago, said: "I'm delighted that he's going to England."
"He doesn't need any authorisation from Le Havre which never upgraded him to professional level."

Ferguson recognised that it was in Rooney’s determined nature to want to get involved at every opportunity.
He told Inside United magazine: "The boy's got a real hunger and drive about him. He has so much energy that sometimes he overdoes it in the sense that he wants to use it all; he'll drop into midfield or he'll go outside left.
"But he's young, and young players tend to sometimes be that way - they want to spend all their energy on the pitch."
Ferguson said, "If he concentrates like he did at Wigan and spends more time in the central areas rather than the wide positions then he will get goals. There's no doubt about that."
