Monsopiad Cultural Village
Kota Kinabalu (Capital City)
Nestled besides the Penampang River are the many traditional buildings that make up the Monsopiad Cultural village, a living museum located 16 km or about half an hour away from the KK City Centre. Monsopiad was a fearsome warrior who lived in the village of Kuai nearly 200 years ago.
At the Village, visit the Tangkob or Grainery where the padi is housed.
Kotos Di Monsopiad or Monsopiad's Main House is dedicated to the life and times of Monsopiad and his descendants. On display are ceramic jars, padi grinders, bamboo items as well as the costume of Bobohizan Inai Bianti, direct descendant of Monsopiad and very senior high priestess.
Other interesting exhibits include the massive monolith which invokes a dozen legends, the traditional restaurant and of course Siou Do Mohoing, or the House of Skulls, where all 42 'trophies' of Monsopiad hang from the rafters.
Getting There
Take the No.13 bus to Donggongon town in Penampang from the bus stations in front of City Hall or Wawasan Plaza in KK City. Fare is RM1.50. At Donggongon, board a minibus bound for Terawi and indicate your stop to the driver. Fare is RM1.00. You can also use any taxi to get there for RM35.00. Or contact the Village for shuttle services.

kalau soc lak.... selalu kalau bawa kawan2, memang ke Poring dulu.... tapi kena datang awal lah... poring selalu sesak especially time cuti sekolahor weekend....
dah enjoy mandi2 semua, then masa balik baru ke kinabalu park.... Lunch kat sana... Lunch sana lebih ok daripada lunch kat area Ranau tu |

ajima ingat nak gi poring dulu then baru ke kinabalu park... gi jauh dulu then senang sikit nak balik KK. Hmmm.. sejuk tak kat kinabalu park tu? ala2 genting tak? kena bawak sweater ke?

kinablu park ni kira kat kaki mt kinablu ke? kita nak gi KK in Feb, duk kat nexus. Ingat one day nak ke kinabalu kat bawah bawah jer. |

dakmama, Kat cni rupanya dia - patut pun takda di board sebelah. I komenlah sikit ttg itenarary u .
- tak nampak pun bila nak shopping kat pasar filipina or pasar malam?
- memang betul jumpa Kinabalu Park dulu, then turun baru ke Poring. Admission fees : tak silap dewasa RM10, kanak-kanak RM5.
- Jauh Poring dari Kundasang - dlm 45 min kot. Memang disana ramai orang and nak masuk pun ada admission fees.
- Kalau U saje nak tenguk traditional house/culture - bolehlah ke Monsopiad tu.
Pantai Inn tu nama aje pantai tapi ditengah bandar . Depan dia supermarket The Store. Jalan kebelakang sikit - ada Pasar Malam pd setiap malam. Harga di Pasar malam ni lebih murah drp Pasar Filipina. (Pasar Filipina 2x mahal).
Di KK, jangan lupa makan pisang goreng. I selalu beli di Kepayan dan di Sembulan (blkg klinik Dr bahrin). Goreng pisang disini manis-manis, garing and dia cicah dgn sos. So far, I dah travel seluruh M'sia, setakat ni, kat KK memang the best. .
Lagi satu yang sedap ialah charkoi. Kalau di semenanjung, charkoi hanya kosong saje tapi di KK ni - dia belah, sapu dgn margarin and letak kaya. Memang sedap.
Apa lagi ye, itu aje yang I tau selama hampir setahun stay di KK. . How I miss KK. .

kinabalu park lebih besar daripada pulau singapura, bukan kaki gunung je (poring hotsprings di kaki gunung tu pun sebahagian kinabalu park) tapi puncak semua tu juga gazetted. nexus okay utk beach holiday tapi jauh dari bandaraya dan nak makan mmg tada choice except makan kat restoran hotel yg mahal2.
qriecy, ala ruginya tada driver. bnyk tempat blh dilawati kalau ada drebar. maybe boleh sewa teksi atau sewa private driver, mcm tour guide. harap sabahan members atau yg lebih arif dpt membantu kawan kita ni. |

er...dgn muka tak malu... i nak kirim barang dari gaya street market leh tak huhuhuhu
market ni betul2 kat belakang pantai inn.
edit: oh baru baca balik itinerary... sunday ada attend wedding... okay takper. apa apa pun have a safe and enjoyable trip!
