so i just got an anon ask: "what engagement ring?"
note that this is an answer based off of my own research, various blogs and sources & tweets, etc, pictures, dates. none of it is confirmed by jaejoong himself. (nor yunho in that case.) cr: yunjae_luv, whanjaiheart
SO. most of you have probably spotted the ring Jae has been wearing since sunday. for example in (among a trillion other fan taken photos, i’ll be using one in particular + jae’s own) 2 3
and the most clear picture i can find, which i shall use as my example (ps this is NOT edited! it’s actually just a crop of the fullsize version of example 3) :
see that pretty baby around jae’s finger? and in all the other pics? ..and pretty every picture since around saturday~sunday?
that ring is the Honeymoon Solitaire by Cartier.
according to Cartier, the ring is available in Platinum/Diamond, with a diamond of approx 0.50 to 1.00 ct.
basically it’s a classy, simple yet pretty ring that’s…quite expensive, really.
but akin to the name - this is an engagement ring. not an ordinary ring! an engagement ring, which is generally bought by males to propose to their significant other (usually females).
that cancels out the idea that jaejoong bought himself the ring - well, it’s a engagement ring anyhow. also, the ring is only available in the US, the UK, and France, meaning it was unavailable for jaejoong to buy within the past few weeks.
it’s quite obvious that the ring jae is wearing is this one. one of my friends who saw jaejoong yesterday when he was in Spain said that the two look remarkably similar - either the one jae is wearing is an exact replica, or it’s the actual thing.
why do i think yunho gave jaejoong the ring?
well, for a few reasons:
one, yunho has had LOTs of time to buy this ring. he’s been to both the US and France within the past few months. it should also be noted that yunho was hanging around the Cartier store in Paris.
also, Cartier is the brand that yunho admires the most. it also has sentimental value to both him and jaejoong because the couple rings the two used to wear are from Cartier.
remember when jae + ho were at the same airport a while back? it was a little later in the day. formerly that day yunho had been very solemn/nervous/etc looking, until later when he passed through the airport. jae was at the airport that same day as well. after he passed through the airport he looked much happier. that was also around the same time when Jae tweeted “i’m happy o(^U^)o” in japanese.

but even if it WASN’T yunho who gave jae the ring (and i strongly believe it is) still the question stands .. why is jaejoong wearing an engagement ring?

DBSK was asked who would they like to have a relationship with if they were a girl. Changmin said that it's a very tough question while looking at Jaejoong. When Junsu, who's unaware of Yunjae, said that he felt disgusted just by thinking of it. When Changmin heard Junsu's comment he laughed but looked at Jae with pity. Yoochun answered first. His answer is Jaejoong but he's looking at Yunho first before answering. When Yoochun looked at Yunho, Jae said that he already knew who Yoochun picked. Jaejoong thought that Yoochun liked Yunho that's why Jae pushed him. But I think Yoochun looked at Yunho to ask permission. Yunho answered that for him any member would be fine. Changmin and Yoochun both looked up to each other then they both glanced at Jae, who pouted after. It's time for Jae to answer. He's not yet saying anything but YooMin were already looking at Yunho. I don't think I need to continue for you to guess who Jaejoong chose...
