Taiwanese Idol Group S.H.E Give Money and Message of Hope
Almostimmediately after Hong Kong's stars made donations to the earthquakevictims in Sichuan Province, celebrities in Taiwan also opened theirwallets. Popular Taiwanese idol group S.H.E made their second donationon Thursday morning while attending a commercial event in Shanghai.
Thegroup is named after the initial of three members - Selina, Hebe andElla. They have a lot of teenaged fans on the Chinese mainland andperform frequently.
Theshoe brand which sponsors them made a donation of 20 million yuan(US$2.86 million) and the three young women contributed 600,000 yuan,as well as an earlier donation of 600,000.
"We don't have asmuch as 20 million but we want to make our contributions," said memberElla, who is frightened of earthquakes and has experienced one inTaiwan.
"We want to try our best to encourage and support thearea. We experienced the September 21 earthquake in Taiwan in 1999 andthe most important thing is not to give up hope.
"Back then in Taiwan, they rescued a little boy one week after the earthquake."

It抯at number 14, above NEWS. It was somewhat surprising to find out that aTaiwanese boyband, Fei Lun Hair, was entering the Japanese market, butapparently it was announced in November last year. The MV for this songis up on YouTube.
