Sources at the club have told us that the scheduled line-up for the 2008 Emirates Cup weekend will bring Real Madrid, Juventus and Hamburg to north London. Arsenal’s matches will be against Real and Juve.
The inaugural tournament took place on the last weekend of July 2007, although with the Euro 2008 tournament happening in the summer and the Community Shield match being played on Saturday 10 August, this year's version could take place on the first weekend of August this year. BerndSchuster has been assured by club president Ramon Calderon that he willremain Real Madrid coach even if his side fail to win the league titlethis season.
"A little while ago Ramon Calderon told me that even if wedidn't win the league I would stay on at Real Madrid because this is aproject and we are building a team," Schuster said.
"We stillhave to complete the second phase of building a team this summer andI'm convinced that we will do it with the league title under our belts.
"I enjoy the full confidence of my president and I don't need anything more."
Spanish media have reported that Schuster's job is under threat if Real fail to win the league title.
Theirlead over Barcelona at the top of the table has been whittled down fromeight points to four after five defeats in eight games and Schuster'stactical decisions have been criticised in the media.
Last season coach Fabio Capello was sacked despite leading Real to the title for the first time in four years.
