Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon will perform a major clearout atthe end of the season, even if the championship is successfullydefended. DiarioSport says Calderon is convinced the squad has majorweaknesses and wants to offload at least eight players in the summer toclear the books and raise funds for new arrivals.
Those in the firing line are Michel Salgado,Mahamadou Diarra, Roberto Soldado, Javier Saviola, Jerzy Dudek,Christoph Metzelder, Julio Baptista and Fabio Cannavaro.
A number of the squad's young players will alsobe sent away on-loan to develop their games, with Gonzalo Higuain,Marcelo, Royston Drenthe, Javier Balboa and Fernando Gago all underconsideration.
