Manchester City Get £45m In New Sponsorship Deals
The Citizens have annouced a new sponsorship deal for next season, as well as a new shirt logo that may offend their fans...
Manchester City are set to announce a new sponsorship deal that will see a new look City shirt for next season, according to The Mirror.
The so-called richest club in the world have now become even richer, signing a deal with two sponsors which will net the club £45 million over the next four years.
The club will announce a £30 million shirt sponsorship deal with Air Etihad next week, it is believed to be a four-year deal.
The club will also have a new shirt manufacturer, with Umbro set to take over from current manufacturers Le Coq Sportif, in a deal worth £15 million.
Ironically, 'Etihad' translates as 'United', City's bitter rivals who beat them 2-0 at Old Trafford earlier this afternoon.
The Red Devils have also recently signed a new sponsorship deal, with Indian telecom company Airtel agreeing a £100 million deal with the club.
The Abu Dhabi United Group, the consortium who own City, have already spent £100 million on players for Mark Hughes this season and it is believed that the Welshman will receive an even bigger transfer budget in the summer, if he is still at the club that is.
The consortium is owned by Sheikh Mansour and the Abu Dhabi Royal family and will probably provide unlimited funds for the manager to spend over the next few years in order to turn the club into a major Premier League challenger. |
