Papers: Wenger hails Reds
Arsene Wenger last night told Sir Alex Ferguson: Your Manchester United side are the best. The Premier League champions can retain their title by taking just a point against Arsenal at Old Trafford tomorrow. And Wenger, whose team trail a distant fourth, admits the table does not lie. He said: "The 18-point gap is a reflection we have to take on the chin. What people forget is that we were very far behind and we dropped too many points. Man United are world champions, European champions and will be champions of England. Everybody has to cope with that, not accept it and come back next year and beat them." United can complete another Double by beating Barcelona in the Champions League final later this month. And after years of bitter fighting over the Premier League title, the French manager insisted this season his fiercest opponents will be worthy winners. "Manchester United have been better than us without a doubt, the whole season." said Wenger. 揟hey played under pressure, Liverpool won the day before, the next day they come out and they believe they will win. |

Ferguson targets home coronation
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson wants his side to clinch the title on home turf by taking at least a point from their match against Arsenal.
Premier League officials have made arrangements to present the trophy at Old Trafford after the final whistle.
"We have another opportunity to win it in front of our own fans - it would be nice to do it," said Ferguson.
Only one of United's 10 Premier League titles has been won at home - in 1999, with a 2-1 victory against Tottenham.
"I have always said I don't care where we win it," added Ferguson.
"But it is strange that we have won it once out of 10 at Old Trafford."
His club also won seven pre-Premier League titles, but Ferguson denied that the prospect of equalling Liverpool's historic record of 18 league titles was on his mind.
The Scot said that his famous vow upon arriving at the club to "knock Liverpool off their perch" was achieved with his first title 16 years ago.
"I never even thought about moving level with Liverpool," said Ferguson
"My first intention was to win one and break the stranglehold Liverpool had on the title. The big challenge was that first one." |

Rio Ferdinand is likely to miss out as United aim to clinch the Premier League title against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.
A calf strain ruled the defender out of the Reds' wins over Manchester City and Wigan, but Sir Alex Ferguson is still hopeful of having Ferdinand available for the Champions League final against Barcelona.
"Rio is still struggling with a calf strain," the manager told his pre-match press conference. "These niggles usually take a week to 10 days to clear up. Hopefully he'll be fit for Hull and the Champions League final.
"He's not training, he's having treatment. He's doing gym work and work on the bikes. He's our only concern for tomorrow, but I'll freshen up from Wednesday - it was a gruelling game and a heavy pitch."
Jonny Evans is likely to deputise again in Ferdinand's absence, as the Reds chase a point or more in order to secure an 18th league title.
