Cristiano Ronaldo
Sir Alex Ferguson hailedCristiano Ronaldo after he became only the third player in ManchesterUnited's history to hit 40 goals in a season.
The winger's double against West Ham meant he joined Denis Law and Ruud van Nistelrooy in achieving the feat.
Law hit 46 in the 1963-64 season, and van Nistelrooy 44 in 2002-03.
Both were strikers which makes Ronaldo's achievement all the more remarkable.
"Ronaldo'srecord speaks for itself," said Fergie. "It's fantastic, especiallywhen you consider he's played 90 per cent of the season as a wide man." |
