NEWS] [Spot] “I put off the release of my new album for this drama!” Lee Hong-ki to Show Confidence in Drama ‘Modern Farmer’
The press conference of drama <Modern Farmer> was held at the SBS new office building in Mokdong, Seoul on October 14. Lee Hong-ki appears as an ambitious man named ‘Lee Min-ki’ who is a leader of a rock band ‘Excellent Souls.’
SBS’s upcoming weekend drama ‘Modern Farmer’ is a comic human drama that tells a story of four members of rock band named ‘EXO’(Excellent Souls) who return to farming.
Lee Hong-ki mentioned about his character. “He has bad temper, but very enthusiastic. He is very unpredictable, too.”
He also said, “I have never seen this kind of drama before. Cast of this drama is all shooting in great harmony. I saw the teaser clip of this drama. I am glad that it was well –made.”
“My mom recommended me to appear in this drama after reading the script. I had hard time when I started shooting. But, I found myself I enjoyed playing this character,” he added.
Background of this drama is farming village. So, he shoots most of scenes in Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbukdo Province.
Lee Hong-ki said, “I stay in farming area for about 15 days a month. Restroom was very uncomfortable to me at first, but now I got used to it. People in the neighborhood often bring me some snacks like chestnuts and jujube. They are so kind. I also realized that air in Seoul is too polluted during living here with very fresh air. I also don’t like neon signs in Seoul any more.”
“I was also so happy that even much older people in the neighborhood recognize me. I want to say thank you to them that they support us. They never complain even though we shoot till late at night. I will try my best to show great acting for them,” he added.
When asked what other members of FT Island said to him regarding this drama, he said, “We had to put off the date of release of our new album due to schedule of this drama. I also know that less people like rock band these days. I think I, as a member of rock band, should make more appearance so that more people get to know about rock band.”
Lastly, Lee Hong-ki said, “I think many people will like this drama regardless of gender and ages. People will see this is a great drama.”
SBS’s new weekend drama <Modern Farmer> airs its first episode at 8:45 p.m. on October 18.
