Seo Hyo-rim confirms Me Too, Flower! by javabeans | September 26, 2011 | 20 Comments
This drama cracks me up; after a whole bunch of names were announced as probable cast members for Me Too, Flower!, each of those actors’ representatives came out hastily to say, No, the deal isn’t final yet, we’re not yet decided, there’s been no contract, wait no wait! And then, one by one, they all confirmed the casting anyway. Ha!
First to sign on was Lee Jia as temperamental policewoman Bong-sun, followed by Kim Jae-won playing her two-faced, “undercover boss” love interest Jae-hee. Han Go-eun joined the show shortly thereafter as a businesswoman CEO who takes an active role in helping Jae-hee cultivate his career, and now Seo Hyo-rim takes on the role of “cute material girl” Kim Dal, step-sister to our heroine. Dal is ambitious and vain, but in an endearing way, which makes me think she’s a lot more like her adorable Sungkyunkwan Scandal character than her snotty Scent of a Woman role. I hope I hope.
Dal comes to live with unni Bong-sun after running into some tough times. She shows interest in the young chaebol Jae-hee (Kim Jae-won), whom Bong-sun knows to be a mere parking attendant working at a store near her police station. Dal also strikes up an acquaintanceship with an older man, played by the always wonderful drama veteran Jo Min-ki.
Seo Hyo-rim said, “I really like the characters and script, which is why I joined this drama right after finishing my last one. Dal has an unpredictable charm, which I hope you’ll enjoy.”
Me Too, Flower! is still finalizing the rest of its cast; idol boys Nickhun and Lee Ki-kwang were both rumored to be looking at the drama, and both were part of the mass casting denials. Who wants to bet they both end up joining anyway? If we’re following the trend, they’ll be hopping onboard any day now.
The drama, which comes from the My Name Is Kim Sam-soon scriptwriter, will air on MBC in early November. |

Drama of the week
Kim Jae-won reveals, "Concentrate on treatment"
Kim Jae-won is stepping down from "Me Too, Flower!"
His management revealed on the 14th of October, "After several examinations with his doctor, we decided that he is not in suitable condition to engage in the drama shoot until the end. Therefore, Kim Jae-won will be stepping down.
Through his management, Kim Jae-won said, "I promise I will find you again with something new when my treatment is over. Although I couldn't complete the entire drama with this project I appreciate my time spent with a director who trusted me and waited for me, writer Kim Do-woo, who wrote the best script, and all the other actor and actresses".
He continued, "I can't finish the drama but I am looking forward to the conclusion of "Me Too, Flower!" and I hope there's a chance for me to work with the director and writer once again in the future. Lastly, thank you to everyone who worried about me".
Kim Jae-won got hurt on the 4th of October due to a sudden acceleration of the scooter he was on. As a result, he suffered torn cartilage and a bone fracture. He needs to rest for the next three to four weeks and surgery is not an option as his shoulder could re-dislocate and cause further injury. |

Yoon Shi Yoon Replaces Injured Kim Jae Won in "Me Too, Flower!"
Finally, a decision: Yoon Shi Yoon ("Baker King Kim Tak Goo") has been tapped to replace Kim Jae Won in the rom-com drama "Me Too, Flower!," as the latter will be in recovery for a dislocated shoulder sustained while shooting the drama. Kim had wanted to stick with the drama despite the circumstances, but ultimately everyone decided it best that the injured actor get some rest.
My first reaction was worry (Yikes, they’re losing Kim Jae Won after all! Wither the hero?), then relief (Oh, they’ve got a replacement lined up? Okay then), then confusion (So baby-cheeked twentysomething Yoon Shi Yoon is playing the same role as post-army thirty-year-old Kim Jae Won?), then a shrug (At least they got an actor to step in with only two weeks till the premiere — best not be picky). Phew, I’m all worn out from the roller-coaster.
First and foremost, I’m glad that Kim Jae Won won’t be trying to soldier on with what sounds like a substantial injury. Commitment and loyalty is one thing; being able to regain use of your arm is another.
However, I’m not any less concerned about the drama, especially since Yoon Shi Yoon will be joining the shoots mid-week. NEXT WEEK. That gives the drama two weeks to shoot and edit two episodes, and the show will essentially be in live shoots from the get-go.
Curious note: "Can’t Lose" wraps up next week, so "Me Too, Flower!" ought to be starting on October 26, but its premiere date is now set for November 2. I wonder what MBC will slot in for that blank week — and more to the point, why they can’t then slot in another week of specials/news/filler to give "Flower" more breathing room. Sure, you might be giving away one week of ratings competition to the rivals, but surely that’s better than putting on a drama prematurely and ensuring that the next two months are gone to waste as well? |

A picture of Lee Ji Ah as a Police Officer was revealed for the MBC’s new drama “Me Too, Flower!” The two leads Lee Ji Ah and Yoon Si Yoon went through a photoshoot for the poster of the drama on October 17.
The picture was revealed on October 19, and it shows Lee Ji Ah who has transformed into the police officer “Cha Bong Sun” and Yoon Si Yoon who transformed into the undercover boss “Seo Jae Hee.”
The drama will be a comeback for Lee Ji Ah after 8 months of no acting. It is being said that at first she felt awkward wearing a police uniform, but the moment they began to take pictures, she transformed into her role.
Lee Ji Ah stated, “It felt like the photo studio felt like home. I was comfortable and happy.” Yoon Si Yoon also stated, “Because it’s a bright and light drama, I think I will be able to film with a happy heart. I will try my best to fit in with all the other actors/actresses.”
The drama will be a romantic comedy about the romance between a police officer and an undercover boss. |
