Story
High school detective Kudo Shinichi and his childhood friend, Mori Ran, hear a male voice shout right after coming out of a nail salon on the first floor of an apartment building. When they rush over to the scene at the entrance of an apartment, cameraman Tsuboichi Yuhei is bleeding from his forehead and his assistant Kishi has collapsed. Shinichi and Ran burst into the apartment to discover that Aida Momoko, the model who lives there, has died. An investigation is conducted. Kishi gives evidence that he had been hit with what seemed like an iron bar by a man who darted out of the room. Tsubouchi says he would like to have the murderer arrested. He is the dead Momoko’s brother-in-law. Shinichi feels something is wrong with Tsubouchi and Kishi’s statements. If the attacker was the same person, he should have struck Momoko with the bar too, but Momoko was strangled by a pair of hands. This makes Shinichi turn his suspicion toward Tsubouchi. Will he be able to expose the murderer’s secret trick and arrive at the truth?

Mizobata Junpei as Kudo Shinichi
A second year student at Teitan High School. A high school detective with outstanding powers of deduction. His nickname is ‘Heisei Holmes’. His soccer prowess is as good as that of a professional. He and his childhood friend, Mori Ran, are in love with each other but have not been able to confess their feelings
Kutsuna Shiori as Mori Ran
Kudo Shinichi’s childhood friend and classmate. She is living with her father, Mori Kogoro now. She has a kind, cheerful and vivacious personality. She is the captain of the karate club in high school and her skills are so good that she won a championship in Tokyo.
Akimoto Sayaka as Suzuki Sonoko
Mori Ran’s classmate and very close friend. She is the daughter of the Suzuki conglomerate, and loves fashionable as well as branded items. She has strong curiosity, and does not appear to be like a well-off young lady because of her good rivalry with Mori’s father.
Otsuka Nene as Kisaki Eri
Mori Ran’s mother. A remarkably stylish and beautiful lawyer. Called the queen of the legal circle, judges are is no match for her. She is separated from her husband, Mori Kogoro, but is always concerned for him.
Jinnai Takanori as Mori Kogoro
Mori Ran’s father. He lives with Ran because he is separated from his with, Kisaki Eri. He opened a detective agency after his retirement from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police. He is a bumbling person who gets carried away easily, but he thoroughly believes that he is a famous detective.
