1st visit 2 the dentist :) by MUMMYDHANI & MUMMYSLOVE

we had our 1st trip 2 the dentist last tuesday. alhamdulillah, everything went well despite his refusal (& his struggle!) at 1st. i was quite anxious, i didnt know wat 2 xpect but o coz i was quite prepared 4 the worst. kot die bersilat ke kan... naya! btw, my boy's about 3 & a half years.
once we entered the room, he was appalled 2 see the nurses wit masked, the dental chair, the gigantic equipment that looked sooo intimidating - he did get scared! wen the nurse asked him 2 sit & recline, that was wen it all started. hihihi...
he refused 2 recline, insisting 2 lie flat on his tummy instead  (camno la nurse nk tgk gigi die tuh?). o coz kene pujuk byk2 la, wit all sorts o reward promises. bile dh terlentang, he was intimidated by the light la pulak... so i had 2 cover his eyes - mmg i purposely kept a towel wit me, takut die vomit ke ape ke kan...
getting him 2 open his mouth wasnt so much o a challenge 4 we had bn doing it longggg b4 the trip. & he didnt qualm also wen the nurse insert the instrument in his mouth sbb mmg every time we brush his teeth i also brush his tongue & check all his teeth... so he's used 2 having someone messing wit his mouth
aft 10-15 min, the ordeal was over... taraaaa... tooth decay no more!
a few tips
- read b4 u bring the lil one 2 the dentist
- show him some pictoral books so that he knows wat 2 xpect, so that the equipment & all will not b sooo alien
- tell him nice stories 'bt dentist - role play pon boleh
- sabar... sabar... & sabar... hihihi...
& the best is - prevention is better than cure
- bile tgk ade signs o tooth decay, get yer lil one prepared 4 his 1st visit... bak kate pepatah - cegah sebelum parah

ms tgk die x tentu arah tu, it did cross my mind 2 just get out o the room, come back later
tp i took a second or two 2 just process the whole thing & it came down 2 me, kalu bwk die balik, nnt kene the 2nd 1st time plak
& i just thot we could pull it off
the nurses pon helped a lot in convincing him that it was gonna b ok

ingat nak bwh gak la somewhere next month
saje utk check kan
and introduce her to pur dentist |

anak aku tuh rs dah ada cavities dah..hukhuk...ntah biler nak bwk gi dentist..for sure kene brsilat ngan dia..or maybe terpaksa pengsan dia..lagikan nak gi neb pun dia leh berlari trus nak kuar klinik... |

anak sulung nie , 1st jumpa dentist dia kena buat feeling...masa tu umur dia baru 3++ yrs....sampai sekarang masih dgn doctor tu, check up kat sekolah pun kami tak bagi doktor lain buat...
adik nya even better, umur 2 ++yrs, dah pernah cuci gigi.....next appointment nak buat apa ntah....scaling+?
i puji habisssss doctor tu lahhh.....memang bagusss sgt!!!, i sanggup bawak anak drive 1 hr from my place just to see this dentist....and to get app. with him takes abt 3-4mths ahead..... |

adik nya even better, umur 2 ++yrs, dah pernah cuci gigi.....next appointment nak buat apa ntah....scaling+?

actually kan, i took him 2 a gov clinic je... x tau nk bwk kt dentist mane kt sini sbb i pon br dok sini... baru x baru, almost 1 year la jugak... hihihi... hopefully lambat lagi la the nxt trip... |

My son's 1st visit to dentist when he was 5. Nak cabut gigi susu.
After cabut gigi tu, dia terpaksa diam jer dlm keter sbb still ada cotton kat mulut..
Aku & hubby siap gelak2 sbb dpt cakap without dia nyampuk / distract apa yg kitaorg ckp....  |

yup, dhani pon refused 2 bite the cotton tuh "x sedap! x sedap!" die xclaimed
tp pastu he was proudly telling everyone that he had just seen the dentist
serius bangga die!

Salam....
Bagus jga ade mom yg kongsi exprnce kt sini.
Teringat lg masa 1st time bawa anak gi dentist kt klinik govt.
Nurses n doc kt sana mcm takleh buat ape jek..since ank pun nangis.
Kite minta refer kt institut pediatrik..bleh plak doc tu ckap dia takut kena marah 
Akhirnya gi kt private clinic yg buat rawatan biasa..minta refer.
Bila dtg sana,doc tu siap ckap lg,mmg mereka ade wat rawatan kt anak umo bwah 2 thn.Klu ikut jek ckp doc klinik gigi govt hari tu,
alamatnya tak pegi la anak kite
Lusa,ank ade appoin kali ke 2 kt hkl |

sblm nie tanya kat bod medical.. tp x mendapat sambutan... So ku tanya kat sini la sure ramai leh kongsi.... (susulan topik sebelah)
