Importing Canon C300 MXF to Autodesk Smoke using DNxHD codec

Summary: This tutorial is mainly to import Canon C300 MXF to Autodesk Smoke via transcoding C300 MXF to DNxHD MOV, ProRes MOV, MPEG-2, etc that Smoke supported. With this tutorial, you can also import Canon XF205/200 MXF to Smoke with success.



Autodesk Smoke has successfully lived up to for very demanding high-end clients for many years. Smoke takes a different approach to editing. It provides world-class compositing tools all unified in a single package. Rather than spend time and money acquiring plug-ins, everything you need is all in one place. With built-in, native 3D stereoscopic video editing, node-based compositing, Smoke native support RED, ArriRaw, DNxHD, and ProRes video formats, imports projects from Apple Final Cut Pro X, Final Cut Pro 7, Avid Media Composer, and Adobe Premiere Pro. However, when it comes to C300 MXF footage, Smoke may not support it well.
