Raw Power of the Nissan 4x4 Tested! Jurassix Park 2013, Miri
Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) organised the Nissan Jurassix Park 2013, an exhilarating 4x4 adventure held in Miri, Sarawak, from 24th – 26th May, 2013. This event was open to all Nissan customers in East Malaysia, especially for those who own 4x4 models such as the Nissan Navara, Frontier and X-Trail. 78 participants joined in for this off road challenge which saw a total of 35 units of 4x4 vehicles raving through the muddy and bumpy courses.
It was the first time that the Nissan Jurassix Park event was held in East Malaysia so that they can get the chance to discover the level of performance of their Nissan 4x4. ETCM has been organizing the event in Peninsular Malaysia since 2004 and in Miri this is the sixth event to-date since its inception.
On the first and third days of the 3-day event, the general public had a chance to personally experience the Nissan Navara 4x4 around the course. For many, the raw power and capabilities of the Nissan Navara was very impressive!
The second day saw the running of the “Search for the 4x4 Off Road Warrior Challenge”, the main event which was exclusively for Nissan 4x4 owners. Expressing his excitement about this event, Dato’ David Chen, Executive Director of ETCM said, “It is very beneficial for the owners to fully understand the features and capability of their 4x4 so that they can use their vehicle to the fullest. This is also one of the many events that we organize for our loyal customers to show our gratitude for their support as part of the Nissan family.”
During the main event, Nissan owners were given hands-on experience and the opportunity to understand the capabilities and features of a 4x4. Throughout the adrenaline–charged course at the Nissan Village Site, there were also physical challenges at various stages designed to test the capabilities and endurance of each participant as they competed among themselves to reach the finish line.
Adding to the excitement of the day’s activities were lucky draws held during the prize presentation dinner at the Parkcity Everly Hotel. The total value of cash prizes, vouchers and lucky draws given away to the winners summed up to approximately RM16,000 worth of prizes!
In search of the 4x4 Off Road Warrior, the grand prize went to the lucky winners; Samuel Iwat and Joshiah Abun Samuel. The best part was, they not only walked away with cash prize and vouchers worth RM1,200 but also Impul FS-16 Wheels worth RM 4,000 during the final round of lucky draws. It was definitely a very lucky day for the both of them.
The Nissan Navara is very well received especially in East Malaysia. With a maximum torque of 403Nm/2000rpm, the Nissan Navara is highly rated for its toughness, off road capabilities and comfort across the world.
