BtoB’s Sungjae and Minhyuk land MC roles on ‘The Show’ before debut
Cube Entertainment‘s upcoming rookie boy band, BtoB, has already landed themselves an MC position on a popular music program!
BtoB’s Lee Minhyuk and Yook Sungjae have been named the new MCs for SBS MTV‘s ‘The Show 2‘! On March 20th, the boys will be participating in their first recording as the new MCs for season two of the popular music show.
Representatives of ‘The Show’ revealed, “We recognized BtoB’s potential and ability to become leaders and entertainers of the K-Pop scene, which is why we cast them as MCs for our music program even before their debut.”
Minhyuk is known for his pretty visuals but also his talents in vocal, rap, and acrobatics. Sungjae, on the other hand, is the group’s maknae and has been noticed for his tall height and skills in singing and dancing.
Minhyuk stated, “It’s an honor to be able to stand as both an MC and a singer on a stage I’ve dreamt of. I’m a bit nervous before my first recording, but I’ll do well with Sungjae.”
‘The Show’ will broadcast its first episode with BtoB on March 23rd. BtoB will be releasing their next teaser on the 20th, which will be followed by their debut on the 21st.

BtoB to release their debut mini album ‘Born TO Beat’ on April 3rd

Rookie group BtoB will be releasing their first mini album titled ‘Born TO Beat‘ on April 3rd!
On March 29th, BtoB will start the presale of their album on online music sites, as well as revealing their track list.
Their first mini album will be available both on and off line on April 3rd, and will feature their two title tracks,“Insane” and “Imagine”, along with two new songs.
The album is said to have been prepared due to the request of fans, who were previously only able to purchase digital copies of the songs and had strongly requested that the album be released, as well as to showcase the diverse music styles of the group.
Their first album, ‘Born TO Beat’ uses their team name, which has two meanings: “Born for music”, and ”The whole world will be overwhelmed (beat) by our music”. The album will include emotion filled vocals and raps that will truly be a treat to the ears of their fans.
In addition, the album will also include a song that was written and composed by the group members, and thus has increased the anticipation of fans.
BtoB debuted on the 21st with their title tracks, “Insane” and “Imagine”, and has already proved their amazing vocals as well as the ability to pull off captivating performances through their showcase and debut music program stages.
Rookie group BtoB has released their self titled debut mini album, ‘Born TO Beat‘.
The mini album contains their two previously released tracks “Imagine” and “Insane“ along with a new track titled “Monday to Sunday” and the intro track “Born TO Beat”.
“Monday to Sunday” is the project of world famous composers Jorgen Elofsson (who has worked Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, and Westlife), Fredrik Thomander (*NSYNC, Arashi), and Dru Scott. The song is described to be a serenade that possesses both classic and modern feel.
“Born TO Beat” is the work of Seo Jae Woo and Seo Yong Bae, who are the brains behind the double title tracks, and is reported to be an energetic hip hop track. Additionally, BtoB’s very own Jung Ilhoon participated in the composition of the song, as well as chorus and rap making.
Rookie group BTOB, makes a sudden appearance through reality program 'Amazon'
BTOB was chosen as the new group in order to show their competitiveness and their survival strategies for being known as 'performance-dols' within the competition of the music world for cable Mnet's reality program 'Amazon (Idol Master ZONE) for their first broadcast to be on the 4th .
BTOB is being recognized for their title track 'Insane' with it's exceptional performances with stable vocals and over-the-top stage manners. BTOB is planning to showcase their vocals and performance through 'Amazon' no matter where they go and plan to showcase their outstanding skills through their performances, living up to their name as 'performance-dols' while gaining more experiences of being on various stages.
Mnet's representatives stated that ''We believe that BTOB is a group that has prepared to stand on stages throughout Asia and have strong points which has the potential to raise them up a step higher in their performances."
BTOB made a surprise visit to an amusement park on March 31st and finished their first mission for 'Amazon' with the cheers of the citizens.
BTOB's leader Seo Eunkwang revealed that "This is the first reality program that all the members will be participating in and it is very special to each one of us" and "In particular, since the concept of this is to find the audience ourselves and to showcase our singing and performances, we think that there will be many things to learn from. We'll perform as if all of our upcoming performances is our very own concert."
On another note, on the 3rd at 12:00AM on all online sites, their first mini-album 'Born to Beat' will be revealed and sold, and they are receiving much attention for being the best rookies of 2012. BTOB's 'Amazon' will be broadcasted every Wednesday at 5PM.

After 4Minute and B2st’s success, the market once manipulated by SM JYP and YG, the Big 3, was shaken up, leaving Cube Entertainment’s rookie group, BToB incredible interest.Here in BToB,these kids didn’t have the basis of (what is needed for) creating idol teams, and were still uncertain but the possibility of their growth makes us anticipate them even more. Honestly, BToB was originally planned as a dance group,it’s no wonder that these members have different dreams from the others as “idol stars”.
Leader cum main vocal Seo Eun Kwang’s dream,was “the Best Vocalist”. “I can’t even think of (being best at) dancing. I only think of becoming a singer who’s voice touches people through the songs that I match to. Honestly when I started learning dance, I doubted to why I was doing this, and opposed strongly to it.” But from that time on, he changed his thinking. ” To sing while dancing is really hard. I have to set this as my main goal.”
As expected, Im Hyunshik’s dream wasn’t to be a dance-singer originally. “I had alot of interest towards singing, and I wanted to be a singer-songwriter.(Inspired by) producer Choi Jongjeok. It seemed like when I started learning dance, my performance’s motivation was realized. I realized why musicians like the deceased Michael Jackson received that much honour.”
As expected, the team’s confident rapper Yook Sungjae dreamed of being a vocalist.”Honestly, my dream was to become a ballad vocalist. We wanted to sing ballads that appealed to peopole’s emotions. Right now, Kim Hyunsik, Kim DongRyul sunbaenims (t/n; seniors) have become the rappers I respect most.”
Peniel grew up listening to rock music. “I wanted to do music in Korea, thus I thought and watched JYP auditions, hence I started learning dance first in Korea. I want to slowly open my eyes to the direction of singing and dancing on stage at the same time.”
Lee Changseob wasn’t that different either. “I didn’t think of being in a group. When I dreamt, it was always in my mind to become a singer who sang on stage alone.Even so it never occured to the company once.” (laughs)
Jung Ilhoon got closer to his dream of becoming an idol after joining the team.However, it wasn’t by a normal way.”Rather than choreographed moves, I wanted to dance freely on stage, as well as rap freely on stage, I dreamt of doing that kind of exciting and enjoyable performance as a singer. Lee Minhyuk wanted the same, like the style of “GD and TOP”.
In reality, Seo Eunkwang, Im Hyunsik and Lee Changseob entered Cube Entertainment through a band audition project as trainees. These three people faced hard challenges as idol singers.
Their own identity was in chaos.
Jung Ilhoon: “The biggest worry for us was that we didn’t have a firm colour.But from some point of time on, we started being able to practice more relaxedly and with more meaning(motivation).We had the thought, to show our ability to gain recognition through transformation rather than maintaining the same image as before.” he explained.
