Powerful 20-year-old Felipe Caicedo has been strongly linked with Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese press recently, with Record suggesting that the club are ready to offer cash plus Miguel Veloso in exchange for the Ecuadorian.

Caicedo has now told El Telegrafo that these links are not without foundation, but that there are also other clubs interested in taking him on next season.

"I received a call from the people at Sporting," he said. "There is still nothing concrete, but they told me that they have already spoken to the officials at City.
