Forum cari guna 2 server pulak dah

Hari ni baru I perasan forum cari ni dah guna dua server (webserver) tapi still guna 1 database. The best thing is, you can log in as one user in the 1st server and at the same time as a different user on the other server... hehhehehe... What a cheap method of load balancing... kekkekekeke

i think they are using two servers with two separate but identical databases, not one database. these two databases will keep synching each other.

theoretically, memang berat. but depends juga with the server setup such as separating external nic and internal nic.

2 databases? ..and keep sync? well, if I'm the server administrator, I would rather opt for 2 load balanced server (either NLB or using layer-4 switch) with one (1) database... Usually, the heavy load is not at database server, instead it's in the webserver. Login will be managed by AD/LDAP

iskk ape-ape sajalah, kita dapat layar & mengakses forum ini dengan stabil sudah besar rahmat nya. Biarlah admin buat kerjanya, apa cara admin mengimbang pelayan ini asalkan bagus untuk kesejahteraan bersama apa salahnya 2 pelayan menjalankan servis layanan pada kita semua daripada dahulu yang hanya satu sahaja pelayan dan banyak pelanggan tak terlayan..

tak berat pon..sama cm biasa jer...cuma kadang2 tu berlaku pertukaran server 1 ke server 2 dan sebaliknya...menyebabkan berlakunya pertindihan post2..

you have to understand how this forum works. it's easy said than done. this forum is free. their admins are doing the best they can with the limited amount of fund they have. if you want to help with all the equipments (free of course) and maintenance, i believe they will welcome it very much.

Software based load balancing is free. For example, NLB for Windoze and Linux Virtual Server for Linux. Hardware based does not come cheap. Layer-4 Switch/router costs a whooping 40K++

Yup... apa yg dibuat ni mmg utk kesejahteraan bersama, tapi kaedah yg digunakan ini memudahkan forummer menggunakan multiple nick. Bukankah ini boleh mendatangkan fraud case. Kelak kita akan jumpa ramai forummer berforum dgn diri sendiri

i think they are doing this because of their concern about the bandwidth instead of load balancing, since their bandwidth will be capped by the end of this month. i believe they went through several decisions and this is probably the best one that they can afford (based on what their host provider have) - have two dedicated bandwidth instead of one.

like i said, if you could give them some help, why don't you go talk to them. every single thing helps. it won't help them if you just lay it out here. may be you can help them host this forum for free, with unlimited bandwidth or help them find a great host for very little money?

with one server pun dah boleh buat. all you need is virtual machine on your pc.

I personally dont know how they host this forum. All this while, I tot that they have they own dedicated servers and hosting facilities since cari.com.my is a company (not individual effort). Thank you for enlighting me!
