Please kasi more details:

1. Network size - big- or small-scale?
2. Criteria of the project
3. Techonology requirements
etc

network size tu xkira ler brp,,asalkan ada network
criteria and technology tu suma dia xkisah..asalkan ada kaitan dgn network..tu je..yuen pn tgh pk nak buat apa..sbb umum sgt ..

Then how about a basic network... combining cable (within a building) and wireless (connecting to the next building close-by). To make it more interesting, use 2 servers - 1 for application sharing/intranet and the other for mail server/internet gateway.

Senang camni... and basically cover almost everything in a network.

Boleh pakai? :hmm:

networking projek paling senang, just make two PCs/devices talk to each other. then, expand from there.

wat simulation ler.... nanti leh tau pasal network technology dan behavior. Cuma pertama sekali dapatkan masalahnyer dulu atau objective nak wat simulation. Then dari situ kiter leh build up measurement apa kiter nak amik kemudian.

Soal LoD (Level of Detail), itu terserah pada individu.

yg bagusnyer kalau leh relate ngan future tech atau nak wat capacity planning on current network atau nak wat feasibility study on different technology of network access, apa2 jer lah.

Baru jer abis wat satu projek utk antar ke Int Journal ngan kawan2. Wat feasibility study antara traditional/conventional  ngan proposed/future technology of optical switch. Which is better in terms of delay handling of transmitting the packet over the tested networks.

Apa kata Yuen wat:
Level of Difficulty: 1/5
1. Performance measurement untuk current network with traffic data. Measurement mungkin dari sudut end-to-end delay, link utilization / throughput. Dari sini juga Yuen bule dapatkan sampai biler sst network tu bule bertahan (hingga network tu congest).

OR

Level of Difficulty: 5/5
2. Feasibility study utk future internet simulation, utk tengok trafik management yg dihantar melalui router/switch yg digunapakai di core network, katakan ler guna MPLS/DiffServ, walaupun diorang dah ader Capacity Planning tapi it is hard to determine the SLA since it involves multiple SLA (multiple QoS's on multiple traffic streams).

Pasti seronok....

maaf yer tumpang thread.
saja nak tau apa pilihan korang kalau nak buat networking utk a group of pc/notebook. pilihan yg dimaksudkan disini adalah dari segi perbelanjaan, methods, peripherals atau hardware yg digunakan, etc.
contohnya, apa pilihan yg korang akan guna untuk menetworkingkan;
- satu hingga empat pc.
- satu hingga sepuluh pc.
- lebih kurang 20 pc.

depends on whether you want to go wireless or wired. 20 devices is still very few (small network) and not very hard to setup.

assumption:
1. no heavy users or very few (less than 5)
2. no server (or very few, 2-3, and not heavily use)
3. data are not highly sensitive

you can:

1. go wireless: for this option, just buy one regular 4-port wireless router and wireless cards for desktops and laptops. with this setup, you can have up to 253 devices connected to the same router. of course, reliability will depend on your location (less interference, better signal). for 20 devices, it will cost less than US1000. not sure how much it will cost in malaysia.

2. go wired: this is a much better, reliable and cheaper option (at least to me). you can still get the same 4-port router like option #1 above. then, get one or two switches (depending on port option) to connect the rest of the devices. this option will cost less than US500. however, for this option, how many devices you can connect to the network depends on your port availability. it's cheaper because most (may be all, now) devices come with nic (you don't need to buy them). also, you need to make sure your cables are not all over the place - need to make sure that they are neatly run. the best way is to also get patch panel with small rack (your network will look very professionally setup).
