KOTA KINABALU: Flash floods hit several areas in Kota Kinabalu and neighbouring Penampang due to bad weather that started on Wednesday morning (Sept 15).
The downpour which started just before noon is now a drizzle but is predicted to continue until later this evening.
Penampang's Bundusan road, which was a flash flood hotspot, also saw water level rising, causing difficulties for motorists to pass through.
This included the Road Transport Department (JPJ) premises there, where its parking lots and surrounding buildings have been badly flooded.
Viral videos of Country Heights, an apartment building in the same district, also saw water gushing through the parking lots, which is on a stooped lower ground level.
In Inanam under the state capital, two areas have been identified as being inundated so far, namely at Mile 7 of old Tuaran Road and Kampung Bantayan.
The authorities, including the Fire and Rescue team, are on alert and have dispatched their teams to the ground. |
