1. Blackhat (2015): Chris Hemsworth a.k.a. Thor was here to shoot a few scenes for the Michael Mann's action thriller in Perak and Kuala Lumpur
2. The Viral Factor (2012): About 80% of the movie was filmed in Kuala Lumpur, which brought us this shot of Jay Chou dashingly pointing a gun while standing in front of a Polis Diraja helicopter
Some of the locations featured in the film - which starred Jay Chou and Nicholas Tse - include the compounds of International Medical University (IMU), an abandoned construction site in KL, Jalan Raja Chulan, Pavilion shopping mall, and KL Sentral.
3. After This, Our Exile (2006): Set in the 1980s, the father-son saga was primarily filmed in Ipoh, Perak, as well as a few scenes in Kuala Lumpur
4. Lust, Caution (2007): Oscar-winning director Ang Lee shot a number of scenes in Penang and Ipoh in portraying 1930s and 1940s Hong Kong
5. The Sleeping Dictionary (2003): Primarily filmed in Sarawak, including a specially constructed longhouse at Batang Ai, the Matang Recreations Park, and Buntal fishing village
6. Summer Holiday (2000): Primarily filmed in Pulau Redang, Terengganu, the romantic comedy made the brightly coloured More More Tea Inn - or more commonly known as "mo mo cha" - a must-visit location for tourists
7. Anna and the King (1999): Banned from production in Thailand, the Oscar-winning historical film was mostly filmed in Malaysia, particularly in Penang, Ipoh and Langkawi
King Mongkut's Grand Palace was recreated at a secret location, but part of the palace was filmed in Rumah Besar Papan in Ipoh, Pulau Langkawi and Shah Alam.
Several scenes were also filmed in various locations in Penang, such as the Armenian Street, Penang Town Hall's Grand Ballroom, Khoo Kongsi, and Swettenham Pier.
8. Entrapment (1999): The Petronas Twin Towers was prominently featured, as was the Bukit Jalil LRT Station, which was temporarily renamed to "Pudu" for the movie
9. Don (2006) and Don 2 (2011): The first movie was mostly filmed in Malaysia, while a few scenes from the second was shot at Malacca Prison. Hey, maybe that's why he's a Datuk!
Datuk Shah Rukh Khan returned to Malaysia for 'Don 2' to shoot several scenes at Malacca Prison, where a section of the prison block made available for filming. Some prisoners were reportedly roped in to be extras too!
10. Police Story 3 (1992): The one where Datuk Jackie Chan famously flew around Kuala Lumpur while hanging on for dear life from a helicopter
The action star has also filmed the 1995 action film 'Thunderbolt' at the Batu Tiga Circuit in Shah Alam.
