Allah (God) has forbidden everything that harms the body and mind, and saps the strength. Everything that is harmful to a person is not permitted.

God sasy in the Qur'an:

"Say (O Muhammad Peace be upon him), "I do not find within that which was revealed to me [anything] forbidden to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal or blood spilled out or the flesh of swine for indeed, it is impure..."
Qur'an 6:145

This is amazing to see how ISLAM is a mercy for mankind by prohibiting and making clear for humans what is good for us and what is harmful for us. This also goes for Alcohol, drugs, gambling, immorality etc.. Thank God for the Mercy of ISLAM!
