Story: Cha Bong Kun (Jung Yunho) is a soccer player who dreams of being a nation player and pours all of his efforts into becoming one. Kang Hye Bin (Go Ara) is a rookie sports agent who realizes Cha Bong Kun's talent but is always bickering with him. (Lee Sang Yoon) is good-natured lawyer who forms a love triangle with Cha Bong Kun and Kang Hye Bin. Oh Yeon Yi (Lee Yoon Ji) is the team's nutritionist and has been Cha Bong Kun's friend since junior high and is Bong Kun's ex-girlfriend. She will be forming another love triangle with Cha Bong Kun and another soccer player.
Just days after refuting the rumors, it has been announced that 23-year-old DBSK singer U-Know Yunho is indeed making his acting debut in the soccer drama Heading to the Ground [맨땅에 헤딩].
The singer, born Jung Yun-ho, takes on the character of “Cha Bong-kun,” a role recently vacated by Kim Rae-won because of Kim’s mandatory army obligation. To achieve the impossible goal of making it as a national player, the character pours all his passion into realizing the dream. While he “has nothing to his name, the drama tells the miraculous success story of passionate soccer player Cha Bong-kun.”
U-Know Yunho said of the role, “I really like the character of Cha Bong-kun. Reading the script, my heart overflowed with emotion. I want to act that feeling with sincerity.”
Heading to the Ground follows the Wednesday-Thursday horror drama Hon on MBC and premieres on September 9. No confirmation yet on the casting of his love interest, although Go Ara remains in contention |

U-know Yun-ho cast as Cha Bong-gun for new Wed-Thurs miniseries "Heading to the Ground"
- Official drama debut since debuting as a singer in 2004
U-know Yun-ho of the famous singing group 'Dong-bang-shin-ki' has been cast for MBC's newest Wed-Thurs miniseries 「Heading to the Ground」, to air September 9th.
The character he will portray, Cha Bong-gun, is a soccer player that leads a sad and pitiful life. Despite having experienced three near-death incidents, he keeps plowing forward to achieve his dream: becoming a player for the national team.
As its title implies, 「Heading to the Ground」 is about the miracle success story of the passionate soccer player Cha Bong-gun. A story full of the human touch, Bong-gun rises from the gutters of a third-rate life and triumphs.
After being cast as the male lead, U-know Yun-ho attended a marathon script reading on the 19th, at which he showed the humility and seriousness of a rookie actor. And though he had received the scripts just a day prior, he showed a deep understanding of the character Cha Bong-gun as well as an intensity and a range of emotional expressions that surprised the production staff. Everyone was immensely interested in him, particularly since he was cast so quickly and secretly, so much so that even some members of the production staff didn't know.
When asked about their decision to cast U-know Yun-ho, the staff explained, "We heard that U-Know Yun-ho has led a life similar to Cha Bong-gun, having to overcome many obstacles yet never giving in while on the path to achieving his dream. We saw the 'Cha Bong-gun' in him, not the star of Asia he is."
Meanwhile, U-know Yun-ho commented on his first acting role, "I really like the character of Cha Bong-gun. I was overwhelmed by the emotions of the script, and I wanted to show those emotions through the portrayal of this character."
Having risen to the top as a member of Asia's top group Dong-bang-shin-ki, the news of U-know Yun-ho's acting debut is sure to garner much attention from both domestic and foreign fans.
With the start of script readings for 「Heading to the Ground」, this spectacular success story of a third-rate life will soon officially enter into production. It first airs on September 9th.

Ara has been cast as the female lead of MBC's latest Wed-Thurs miniseries 「Heading to the Ground」 (script by Kim Sol-ji, directed by Park Seong-su).
Ara will be Kang Hae-bin, a sports agent who is actually the daughter of the team's owner but hides her identity in order to survive in the male-dominated world of sports agents while relying only on her skill. She witnesses the volley shot of the rookie soccer player Cha Bong-gun and is mesmerized. This leads to their partnership. She's constantly bickering with the proud Bong-gun, but when Bong-gun saves her life, their relationship deepens.
The production staff said of Ara, "She's energetic and expressive. She's an actress who grows through her challenges. Thanks to her this drama will become a trendy drama for 2009. She makes things refreshing and fun on set."
Ara said of this project, "The script was so fun I read up to episode 10 in one sitting. I really like this character because she develops well both as a person and in love."
Much expectation and interest are gathering for this romantic comedy led by the top singing group Dong-bang-shin-ki's leader U-know Yun-ho and teen star Ara.
「Heading to the Ground」is the simple love story between Cha Bong-gun, the man who has nothing but passion, and Kang Hae-bin, the girl who seemingly has everything but wants to stand on her own. There will be misunderstandings and they will bicker, but in the end love will prevail. This drama will be a heartwarming story about a young man who has three brushes with death but survives to overcome and eventually succeed.

GOE;SS will be working on Yunho's New Drama: "Heading to the Ground"
Yes, we've decided! We are indeed a TVXQ fansub team so it's just right for us to work on Yunho's drama.
As of now, the tentative air date is on September, while Jaejoong's Heaven's Postman is on October.
Yunho's drama is said to have 16 episodes, making it a full-length drama.
We'll work extra hard on this and try our best to give you fast and HQ subs for this drama.
On another note, we are constantly looking for Korean and Japanese Translators.
We still have a lot of projects pending. We need all the help that we can get so if you know how to speak Japanese or Korean and translate them to English then please don't hesitate to join the Gods of the East Subbing Squad.
