ntah la.... aku dapat call from agent asking me to sit for exam.. i think on jobstreet ..  aku pun memang nak keje sementara sambung belajar ni... so daat duit sket..

ade cakap..ocbc pays good money cus its an international bank , plus benefit banyak.. tapi pressure gile la cus dealin with customers kan...

aku try je la.... kalau dapat... dapat la.. kalau tak .. tak de rezeki..... aku pun tak active carik kerrje ..saje try2... sebelum start belajar balik

tapi requirement kene ade degree and english kene bagus katanya... kalau tau mandarin lagi bagus sebab ocbc ni dari singapore and china so.. chinese customers ramai..

aku cume nak tau ape test nye dan environment ,  exact amount payment for fresh grad macam haku...

anyway..tadi ade sorang lagi agent call aku untuk interview ocbc..

tak pasti la hsbc macam mane..tapi ocbc ,they pay good money la..tadi die cakap.. fresh grad leh dapat dalam 3k... basic 2000 and allowance, transport + ape tah satu lagi + transport dalam 800

so dalam almost 3k leh dapat.. aku g interview next week.. ade 2 agent panggil aku untuk ainterview untuk call centre kat  cyberjaya and both bank yang same... memang pressure sket la kerje customer service ni.. tak pe la..permulaan sebelum cari kerje yang tetap. nak memilih kang susah pulak kan.. orang dah nak bagi tu amik je la..

aku kerja sbg service banker kt salah sebuah international bank kt kl...

it's a customer service job sbb deal directly with customer..

aku tak brape sure camane keadaan dgn OCBC tp secara generalnya aku boleh cakap..i believe banking customer service is the most stressful and yet challenging job in customer service industry compare dgn technical customer service mcm it support contohnya...

if IT customer support you only have to dealt with specific client, banking customer service plak deal with all sort of client from various background..dari yang pandai mcm corporate client sampaila yang bodo2 yg tak reti beza ape tu ATM card dgn credit card..

masa aku dpt offer keje skrg neh..aku juga dpt post as Customer Care Executive kat Maybank...since dari segi skop keje dan assessment lebeh kurang so aku boleh generalize yg ko kene ada tiga elemen neh..

1) pandai cakap english (compulsory)

2) familiar dengan financial matematik (mcm kira interest, rebate discount etc)

3) yakin dan kuat semangat...

aku rasa ko tak perlu risau pasal no.1 ngan no.2...tapi no. 3 tu agak susah skit sebab Customer Service ni kene kuat semangat...kalau lembek..serious aku cakap ko takkan boleh tahan even seminggu..

client akan torture ko smpi ko rasa tertekan yg amat sangat...dari tinggi2 kan suara sampaila maki hamun ko..so kene kuat semangat dan  perlukan kesabaran yg amat tinggi...

dari segi income, aku tak sure pasal industri lain, tapi customer care bagi banking industri agak tinggi..you can get up to 2.5k per month with additional incentives (shifts, performance review)..so bole dpt up to 3k++ per month..lepas tu ko akan belajar banyak bende since as a customer care executive you're the frontline of the company therefore you must know everything about the financial, bank services and products..kalau tak tau..menganga la kalau customer tanye memacam..ko jugak kene cekap deal with problem since you're only allowed to spend not more than 5 minutes on a session..dari segi benefits, mmg banyak...housing loans, personal loans, car loans, medical confirm cover..even optical and dentistry pun cover (bank aku lah...)

but then even with all the privileges, dont expect bed of roses in customer service..its a thorn and barb wire along the way...sepanjang 8jam ko keje, ko takkan duduk senang...setiap kali customer call, ko takkan boleh elak dari rasa panik skit...kalau ko tak boleh deal dgn customer problem..lagi la parah..silap haribulan kalau ko silap assist..boleh masuk jel (compliance and secrecy issue)..

so kalau ko dgr org cakap keje customer service ni very stressful..mmg betul ape yg ko dgr..mmg stressful keje customer service neh..lagi2 banking industry...tapi bagi aku customer service is the best stepping stone for fresh graduates...it'll trains you to become a professional...orang cakap kalau ko boleh survive keje Customer Service..ko boleh keje kat mana2 jer dalam dunia neh

lagi satu...dont expect you'll get up to 3k as an entry level..sbb even kalau ko dpt pun there are still probation period yg ko kene lepas...THEN baru ko boleh dpt income 3k mcm org yg interview ko tu kate...mostly for starter they will pay you around 1600 to 1900++ dan takde incentives...lepas probation baru diaorg suruh ko sain kontrak baru where it comes with new salary review plus incentives plan...

customer care demands you to work on shift 24/7 meaning that ko maybe akan keje odd hours (masuk shift tengah malam contohnye), weekends lari (off day ko maybe jatuh kat weekdays) dan kemungkinan besar tak dpt balik raya selalu (holiday bukan ikut malaysia tapi ikut negara yg ko cover)

so itulah skit sebanyak pasal banking customer service ni yg aku tau...stressful and yet challenging..you'll learn alot and aku suggest ko try la dptkan keje tu dulu..

thanks.. aku memang expect la kekeje macam ni stress... harap2 kalau dapat.. kire aku dapat la go thru bebende ni while learning kan...

anyway one more thing.. is it true, internationa bank like ocbc or hsbc, they give priority to those who can speak other local dialect, impliedly dorang nak cakap chinese la kan.. hurmm..

tak semestinya they emphasize on chinese dialect knowledge...biasanye kalau ko dipanggil untuk interview kt OCBC tu diaorg taula yg ko mmg tak pandai cakap mandarin/chinese...post2 customer service yg required mandarin/chinese language proficiency selalunya diberikan kt chinese jer sbb diaorg akan diletakkan dibwh zon east asia..so cover customer dari east asia mcm HK, China, Taiwan dan sbgnya..

the reason why they put the chinese proficiency requirement as general ( "know how to speak mandarin is an added advantage" ) is because not all chinese can speak mandarin dan ada non-chinese (melayu or india cthnya) yg fluent ckp mandarin...so advantage kalau ko boleh cakap mandarin, starting basic boleh up skit (tak salah aku laa...) compare dgn chinese yg boleh ckp mandarin (since its their mother tongue)

Maybank as Customer Care Exec ke?...aku penah dioffer keje tu sblm ni...office kat Bukit Jelutong Tech Park kt Shah Alam...starting basic okayla..(2200++ time aku dulu)...office mmg super comfort..ade gym, ade cafetaria yg best, basically facilities mmg best laa...tp aku reject sbb jauh sangat (aku duk Bangi) dan Maybank offer contract-based setahun...permanent status is given based on performance after that 1 year contract..interview Maybank agak susah even utk post customer service jer..masa aku interview kt Maybank dulu..adela dlm 20 org yg shortlisted..ade assessment test English ngan Maths..lepas tu baru interview...interviewer 2 orang lepas tu lama nak mampos...aku kene dekat sejam lebih..nak terbakar telinga aku kene tembak dgn interviewer2 tu...smpi tahap aku bengang gila aku tanye balek apsal tanye macam2 neh sedangkan aku apply utk Customer Care Exec jer..bukan manager haha..aku dah tak kisah time tu dpt ke tak sbb aku dah bengang gila dok tembak2 aku camtu..end up dari 20 org yg apply, 5 org jer dpt offer (Maybank offer on the spot)..which termasuk la aku..tp aku reject dan salah satu sbbnya, selain dari jauh nak mampos.. aku dgr management Maybank sux

pasal test tu dorang tak bagi tau pulak sebab dorang cume suro datang interviw je.. starting utnuk fresh grad memang 2267 kat maybank ...

biasanye tak banyak soalan..mostly diaorg psiko ko tengok ko bleh handle pressure ke tak...mcm aku dulu diaorg tanye 4-5 soalan jer..tapi diaorg yg dok cakap berjela-jela...dia tanye aku apesal nak masuk banking industry sedangkan aku IT graduates..then tanye kenape minat nak keje customer service and so on and so forth...soalan standard2 interview la..takde teknikal questions..tapi diaorg ckpla yg ko kene shift memalam buta..pegi toilet pun tak leh lebih seminit..raya tak leh balek..demam takleh MC..kalau dpt offer lagi bagus takleh blah..etc etc..so diaorg cuba psiko ko supaya tak nak post tu sbb nak tgk samada ko ni jenis loyal (tak job hopping klu dpt offer lg bagus) or jenis just keje customer service as a stepping stone to other career...

masa aku dlu..aku terus-terang ckp yg klu dpt offer lg bagus of course la aku blah..then diaorg tembak aku balek ckp "so what the hell are you doing here? we only looking those who are passionate in customer service!"...padahal dia sendiri ckp yg keje customer service kt Maybank mmg tak boleh blah department lain (cthnya nak masuk management dept Maybank)..abeh tu ingat aku nak jadi customer care exec smpi mati? haha..aku balas balek aku dpt offer bank lain (bank yg aku keje skrg neh) yg offer career enhancement dlm management diaorg lepas tu diaorg ckp "then you dont need to apply for this post lah, just go and work at that bank"...aku balas balek "yes, i am planning to do just that, i think i just waste my and you guys time here"..ckp thank you then aku blah...5 minit lepas tu diaorg kluar then kasi surat pre-employment medical check up kt aku haha...

kesimpulannye...time interview nnt just be honest jer la...klu ko rasa tak leh..ckp takleh..jgn cakap yes yes jer memanjang sbb nnt ape yg ko cakap aku terkena kt ko balek..interview slalunya akan ade assessment...jarang aku pg interview takde assessment...

haha..kingkong..aku bebetul ikut ape yang ko cakap..
ok la aku dapat preemploy med check up tu... dah g dah pun...haha.. aku bengang betul... aku nye session interview sampai nak dekat sejam kot.. orang kat sebelah bilik aku ( panel 2, aku panel 1) dah masuk 3 orang dorang interview, aku baru nak habis...

ocbc tadi pun ok gak.. aku memang honest ggile2..aku cakap aku takkan jadi macam ni sampai bebile.. ocbc ade career enhancement. tu yang aku suke.. environment die best..cume ramai bukan malay la.. its not a problem untuk aku pun tapi kalau ramai malay meriah sket....

ko keje hsbc eh? tak pe la.. tapi aku tengok environment kerje dalam ocbc tu macam cool gile... aku g kat maybank tu macam tertutup sangat la... dah la banggunan mane tah maybank ni amik kat shah alam tu... carik la proper tempat.. ni kat kawasan perindustrian..alih2 ade maybank..motif!!! kann...

anyway tadi aku tengok dalam ocbc tu.. 99% cina kot..... tapi dorang gile best.. tadi mase kene interview.. interviewer aku chinese cakap singaporean ni nasty.. lol.. tak sangke aku....


ape2 pun aku harap dapat la 2-2 keje tu. maybank ni orang tu cakap.. aku dah 80% dapat.. tunggu med check up ngan check credit history bla bla family aku kat maybank.. kalau tak ok..tak dapat la kerje tu... ocbc pulak bagi tau end of this week and i presume will be tomorrow la....

all in all, pergi interview memang best...lol... masuk ocbc dah 5 tempat aku g interview dalam mase 4 sebulan ni.. mase last week kat kl pun maxis ngan price waterhouse cooper ade call untuk interview tapi ...terpaksa pulak lepaskan.... nak masuk dalam bank line la...
doakan la aku yek dapat maybank ataupun ocbc ni
