Synopsis (IMDB):

buku ni best. baca tak boleh letak. tapi ni buku under category kanak kanak tapi org tua baca pun terhibur. this is the no. 1 most anticipated book to movie adaptation according to THE MOVIE FANATIC - 50 MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK TO MOVIE ADAPTATIONS.

i love this book even thought its a book for children, very thrilling and educational (in a sense teaching young readers the outcomes/consequences of wasting natural resources).

i think i need to finish of The Book of Ember series.

race to witch mountain tu bila2 bley tngok. sure citernye lebih ringan dr city of ember.

citer ni mengingatkan pd generasi zaman skang yg byk dh lupa pd teknologi zaman dlu, yg ekceli lebih canggih n moden dr skang. cuma mnde tu makin lama, makin dilupakan. n then org skang bgantung sepenuhnya pd mnde yg dh sedia ada. mcm org2 yg city of ember tu la.
cuma mcm ada bbrapa mnde yg left out masa tngok tu.
tk sure filemnya truly faithful pd novelnya ke tak.
kene baca novel gak bru tau. tp overall mmg bestla.
hopefully derang wat filem utk novel yg 2nd n 3rd.

aku pun rasa agak menarik citer ni dan semestinya lagi berbaloi dari Witch Mountain yg buat rasa loya sikit2 tu....aku memang agak suka dengan filem2 yg tunjuk dunia eccentric mcm ni (Charlie n Chocolate Factory, Lemony Snickets dll) tapi apa yg lebih sedap ialah film ni semacam ada lapisan metafora2nya sendiri walaupun aku tak berapa paham sangat tapi semacam kesimpulannya ialah pemikiran konservatif dan tidak ingin maju kedepan/berubah akan selamanya membuatkan satu bangsa itu berada pada tahap yg sama walaupun berabad lamanya....komuniti City of Ember adalah komuniti yg tertutup...tak taula nak sindir rakyat USA ke atau terkena batang hidung org2 melayu sendiri ke atau individu, apa2 pun simbolik itu memang kita dapat mengaitkan dengan realiti.....dan komuniti tertutup ini....kesianlah...begitulah mereka...tak maju tak mundur....disitu saja....segalanya dipilih dan diatur, segalanya perlu mengikut tradisi...menderhaka terhadap tradisi akan dipandang sering, tiada kebebasan membuat keputusan.....

Konsep komunity tertutup yg dipegang oleh fahaman/budaya/kepercayaan/agama ni rasanya dah banyak kali diputar2 dalam filem2.....malah sehingga storyline game Final Fantasy X pun menggunapakai konsep yg sama....

oh ya...satu lagi elemen yg mengingat aku pada game siri FF ialah atmosphere City of Ember tu sendiri...yg kusam, yg cerah dan malap...semacam ia dimodelkan dari persekitaran slum area yg letaknya di bawah Midgar City dari game ff7 pun ada....

gaia, aku dh baca sinopsis(spoiler) buku 2nd n 3rd. buku 2nd mcm xmenarik sgt. tp yg 3rd tu ala2 menarik sket.
xtaula derang nak wat sequel ke tak.
tp aku interested kalo derang wat prequel, sbb ada novel prequel utk citer city of ember ni. ada 4 novel semuanya.
citer psl pre/post apocalypse ni aku mmg tertarik. just nk tau cmner penulis buku ni punye teori/idea je.
