Bruce eyes Parnaby swoop

Middlesbrough utility player Stuart Parnaby has emerged as a possible target for Birmingham boss Steve Bruce.

Bruce has been alerted to the 24-year-old after the player rejected a new contract at the Riverside Stadium in order to search for regular first-team football elsewhere.

The former England Under-21 international can play at right-back, centre-half or in midfield which would make him an attractive choice for Bruce although Sunderland are also monitoring the situation.

Parnaby, who is out of contract, made only three Premiership starts in 2007. In total he made 127 appearances for the Teessiders, scoring four goals.
