i honestly think setiap orang memang patut sangat buat digital detox ni..tak kisah la your background apa sekalipun, kerja or student, single or married..sebab masing2 ada life and tangunggjawab to fulfill..

i sendiri pun on soc med detox sekarang ni..fb dah dekat 2 bulan tak update..login pun jarang2 sangat..twitter plak i deactivated since 2013/2014 tak ingat exact date..whatsapp pun bila perlu je, and i sejenis tak suka berada dalam group2 whatsapp..not even group kawan2 masa study dulu..

now i aktif dekat ig n forum je untuk ambik tau berita2 terkini so takde la macam katak bawah tempurung sangat ;P

banyak kerja boleh selesai sebenarnya bila tak menghadap fon dan sosial media. yang kita rasa tak cukup masa atau tak ada masa tu, sebab terlebih habiskan masa menghadap fon dan social media.. (instagram, FB, forum)

sosial media menjadikan kita lagi suka bertangguh. sedangkan masa berjalan. melewat-lewatkan solat, melewat-lewatkan makan, melewat-lewatkan tidur., melwat-lewatkan stadi.

detox kecil-kecilan setakat ni, masa memandu memang tak angkat call, or tak tengok fon.. tak reply whatsapp...

Should give this a try...

Turn off push notifications. Getting constant updates on what’s happening in the world is informative—but it can also be distracting. "If you’re allowing yourself to get interrupted five times in a half an hour, you’re never actually focused in that time," says Jesse Fox, PhD, head of Ohio State University’s Virtual Environment, Communication Technology, and Online Research (VECTOR) Lab. One easy fix is to turn off as many notifications as you can live without.

Convert to black and white. One reason our devices are so alluring is that they’re vibrant. Go retro, recommends Greenfield. Many smartphones now allow you to change the settings so the entire phone appears in gray scale.

Put away your phone during meals. It’s a common sight at restaurants: a gleaming smartphone next to the bread basket. And yet, research shows that, even if we’re not checking our phone, simply having it on the table during a convo can reduce the quality of the interaction—our brains are just waiting for it to light up, and as a result, we are not fully present. "The more energy we direct toward our devices, the less energy we’re directing toward whoever is in the room with us," explains Elisabeth LaMotte, a licensed clinical social worker and founder of the DC Counseling and Psychotherapy Center.

Designate tech-free hours. Many of us feel "naked" when we’re without our devices, but taking breaks from technology can do wonders for our well-being. "Start by designating a certain time each day that’s tech-free—like while you’re eating lunch," says Adam Alter, PhD, a professor at NYU and author of Irresistible: The Rise of Addictive Technology and the Business of Keeping Us Hooked ($27; amazon.com). "Then see how you feel after a week or so. Most people feel happy with the change, and they go on to expand it."

Btw, iols kalau tak tahan, iols delete app macam instagram, facebook. Pastu install balik but somehow ok la jugak. Ada la inisiatif,
Takpun logout account atleast bila nak bukak tu, ada pause kejap so time tu decide tak nak bukak balik.
Iols also unfollow account thats too flashy or materialistic or takda motif. Akaun takda motif macam instafamous pandai dressup. Huhu

To not browse or check the following websites/apps for entire month.

Facebook

Twitter

Instagram

Etc

Benefits :

More motivation

Social media apps are “motivation vampires.” They slowly drain us of the energy to achieve our goals.Boredom is a good thing. It leads to creativity and action. The constant access to easy, convenient sources of entertainment robs us off the opportunity to feel bored, the very thing that leads us to seeking fulfillment in the real world.

Better mental abilities

Regain focus, attention span, and memory which have been short circuited by the constant over-stimulation that social media provides.

More time for the things that matter

Free up hours to spend outdoors, reading books, with friends and family, etc.

Healthier emotional state

Better self image. No more comparing ourselves to the photo-shopped highlight reels of others.Breaking free of social validation from people we don’t care about and whose opinions shouldn’t affect our happiness.Realizing that the world is a good place. Constant exposure to negative media, outrage news, fear, and anger warps our perception of reality.
More empathy for people in the real world.
