"Thinking ahead to the Paris Paralympics" - 4 consecutive Asian Games for the disabled

Jeon Min-jae poses for a photo after winning the silver medal in the women's T36 200m track and field event at the Hangzhou 2022 ParaAsia Games at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium main stadium in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, China, on March 23.

"Smile Racer" Jeon Min-jae, 46, who won the first medal for the South Korean team, said "age doesn't matter" in a poignant acceptance speech.

"I think I ran well with a lot of help," she said after winning the silver medal in the women's T36 200m final in a time of 31.27 seconds at the Hangzhou 2022 ParaAsia Games at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium main stadium in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, China on Wednesday, "and I will try to win the gold in the 100m race."

Jeon's silver was the first medal for South Korea at the Games.

Jeon is a living legend in Para athletics.

Diagnosed with Grade 1 cerebral palsy after suffering encephalitis in 1982 at the age of five, Jeon made his athletics debut in 2003 at the late age of 26 and quickly became one of South Korea's top Para sprinters through rigorous training.

Starting with a triple gold medal at the 2004 National Paralympic Games, he remained at the top of his game and went on to win silver medals at the London 2012 Paralympic Games and Rio de Janeiro 2016 Paralympic Games.

On the Asian stage, she was unbeatable. After winning two silver medals at the 2010 Guangzhou ParaAsia Games, Jeon won two golds at the 2014 Incheon Games and 2018 Indonesia Games.

At a ripe old age, he rose to the challenge once again, winning a silver medal in Hangzhou.

After the competition, she answered questions from the media with the help of her coach.

"I was thinking about my career until the Paris 2024 Paralympics," he said, "I'm still getting (good) results. I think it's a fight with myself. Age doesn't matter."

Jeon, who has touched many hearts by releasing a letter written with his feet after each international competition, prepared a letter for this event as well.

He plans to introduce it in person after the 100-meter race at the same venue on the 26th.

Jeon's challenge is not over yet. 슬롯사이트
