How to make lip glosses last longer

Viewed 42 times4-2-2022 11:22 PM

Lip gloss is a great way of adding color and shine to your lips. However, the downside is that it’s not very long-lasting – you can only expect about an hour or so before it starts to fade away. This means that you need to reapply often if you want to keep your lips looking fresh throughout the day. Here are some tips on how to make lip gloss last longer:

1) Use a lip liner first. A good lip liner will help you define your lips better, which in turn makes them look fuller and more defined. It also helps prevent any lipstick from bleeding into the lines of your mouth.

2) Apply less lip gloss. The amount of lip gloss you apply should be minimal. If you put too much on, then it will start to smudge as soon as you eat or drink something.

3) Don’t use lip balm with lip gloss. Lip balms tend to dry out your lips, making them feel uncomfortable.

4) Keep your lips moisturized. Moisturizing your lips regularly will help them stay soft and supple for longer. You can do this by using a lip balm every time you go outside or when you get home.

5) Avoid touching your lips. When you touch your lips, they become drier and therefore lose moisture faster. So don’t touch your lips unless you have to!

6) Try different types of lip gloss. There are many different kinds available, including matte, glossy and glittery ones. Each one has its own benefits and drawbacks. For example, matte lip gloss tends to give a more natural finish, while shiny glosses add a bit of extra sparkle.

7) Wait until after you’ve eaten or drunk anything before applying lip gloss. Applying lip gloss directly onto your lips can cause them to dry up and crack.

8) Make sure you cleanse your lips well. Before applying lip gloss, make sure you wash your lips thoroughly. This will remove all traces of dirt and oil.

9) Never leave lip gloss sitting around for too long. Once you’ve applied it, you shouldn’t leave it lying around for too long. Otherwise, it could start to dry out and crack.

10) Be careful what you eat and drink. Some foods and drinks contain ingredients that can damage your lips. These include coffee, tea, cola, wine, chocolate and red meat.

11) Wear sunscreen underneath lip gloss. Sunscreen protects your lips from getting sunburnt, but it doesn’t protect them from drying out. To avoid this problem, wear sunscreen underneath your lip gloss.

12) Don’t forget to smile! Smiling naturally causes blood flow to increase, which keeps your lips feeling moist and plump.

13) Don’t overdo it! Too much lip gloss can actually make your lips appear chapped and sore.

14) Reapply frequently. If you find that your lip gloss is starting to fade, then reapply immediately.

15) Get the right shade. Different colours suit different skin tones. If you have pale skin, then choose a light pink or nude tone. On the other hand, if you have darker skin, then opt for a deep plum or berry coloured lip gloss.

16) Choose a gloss that suits your lifestyle. Glosses come in various forms, such as liquid, cream, stick, gel and even powder. Most people prefer to use a gloss because they think it lasts longer than a lipstick. But there are pros and cons to both. Liquid lipsticks tend to run off quicker than their solid counterparts, whereas powder glosses tend to dry out your mouth. Stick glosses are usually the best option, as they provide a smooth application without leaving a sticky residue behind.

17) Don’t share lip gloss! Sharing lip gloss with others can lead to them picking at your lips, causing them to peel away.

18) Use a lip brush. Lip brushes allow you to apply lip gloss evenly across your entire lips. They also ensure that you don’t miss any areas.

19) Apply lip liner first. Lip liners are used to define your lips and create a perfect outline. It’s important to apply lip liner first so that you can see where you need to apply your lip gloss.

20) Apply lip gloss last. The final step of applying lip gloss should be to apply it on top of your lip liner. Doing this ensures that you achieve an even coverage.

21) Clean your lips often. After applying lip gloss, make certain to clean your lips thoroughly. This removes any excess product left by the lip gloss.

22) Avoid using cotton swabs. Cotton swabs only scratch your lips, leaving them raw and irritated. Instead, use a makeup sponge or Q-tip to gently wipe away any excess product.

23) Keep it simple. You don’t need to go overboard when choosing your lip gloss. A good quality gloss will do the job just fine.

24) Try new things. There are many types of lip gloss available today. Experiment with different shades and textures to discover which ones work best for you.

25) Look for products containing SPF 15+. SPF 15+ protects your lips from harmful UV rays.

Lip Glosses with a Matte Finish

I’ve been using lip glosses for years now, and I love them. They’re easy to apply, they last all day long (if you use the right formula), and they don’t leave any kind of sticky residue on your lips. However, one thing that has always bothered me about lip gloss is how it looks when applied. The glossy finish just doesn’t look natural at all. It makes my lips look like they have something stuck on them. So, I decided to try out some matte lip glosses to see if they would give me the same results as regular lip gloss but without the stickiness. And guess what? They do! Here are five lip glosses with a matte finish:

1) Revlon Ultra-Blendable Liquid Lipstick in “Pink Poodle” ($7.99): This liquid lipstick is formulated with a blend of waxes and oils to deliver smooth, comfortable coverage. It also contains SPF 20 to protect your lips from the sun’s rays.

2) Wet n Wild Mega Shine Lipgloss in “Smooth Operator” ($6.49): This gloss is designed to be worn wet, so it won’t dry out your lips. It contains shea butter to soften your lips and condition them. It also has SPFs ranging from 5 to 30 depending on which flavor you choose.

3) Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss in ‘Matte Mauve’ ($32.00): This gloss is formulated with an oil-free base to help your lips stay moisturized. It also contains SPFs ranging from 10 to 50 depending on which flavor you pick.

4) Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil in “Velvet Teddy Bear” ($20.00): This pencil is designed to glide on easily and evenly. It contains SPF 20 to block out damaging UVA and UV B rays.
