"Golongan ini, kalau mereka menyebar luas (pandangan), boleh diambil tindakan kerana menyalahi fatwa dan mufti mungkin boleh keluarkan fatwa.Beliau berkata demikian sewaktu mengulas kenyataan G25 yang mahu penguatkuasaan terhadap khalwat dihapuskan, pada satu sidang media di sisi Perhimpunan Agung Umno ke-69 di Pusat Dagangan Dunia Putra (PWTC) hari ini.
Beliau juga menggesa kumpulan itu agar mengakui fahaman liberalisme mereka dan tidak bersembunyi di sebalik konsep wasatiyyah atau kesederhanaan.Menurutnya, kumpulan itu sebaliknya cenderung menganut fahaman liberalisme yang bertentangan dengan Islam."Fahaman mereka ini satu fahaman yang sangat bertentangan dengan Islam sebenar. Fahaman (mereka) sekarang sangat ekstrem liberalnya. Di Indonesia, mereka ini dikenali sebagai Jaringan Islam Liberal.
"Mereka ini menganut fahaman liberal, pluralisme dan macam-macam lagi idea yang sangat bertentangan ajaran Islam sebenarnya," katanya. Semalam, Pemuda PASmenyifatkan cadangan kumpulan G25 supaya undang-undang berkaitan kesalahan khalwat dipinda atau dimansuhkan boleh membawa satu ajaran baharu yang mengelirukan, lapor akhbar Utusan Malaysia memetik ketua penerangannya Ahmad Fadhli Shaari. Sementara, bekas ahli Parlimen Kulim-Bandar Baharu, Zulkifli Noordin menyifatkan Datuk Noor Farida Ariffin, jurucakap G25, sebagai seorang yang jahil syariah dan perundangan negara. Minggu lalu, Noor Farida mendesak perundangan syariah berkaitan kesalahan khalwat dimansuhkan kerana katanya melanggar hak privasi individu. – 11 Disember, 2015.

G25 risks deviant label over liberal beliefs, says Najib’s religious adviser

The Prime Minister’s Office has hit out at the G25 group of Malay moderates for using terms such as “wasatiyyah” (moderation) and “maqasid shariah” (higher objectives of the Shariah) in its campaign to reform domestic religious laws.
The prime minister's religious adviser Tan Sri Dr Abdullah Md Zin said the group risked being labelled deviant, like the Al-Arqam movement banned in the 1990s.
The Najib administration has in the past used both terms, saying they were cornerstones in its approach to Islam.
G25’s latest statement called for a number of changes, including an end to laws on khalwat (close proximity between Muslims of opposite sexes).
"They do not represent wasatiyyah but they want to hide behind these two terms.
"Wasatiyyah is not moderation to the point where you are liberal," Abdullah told reporters at the Umno general assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur today.
"What they are doing is not maqasid shariah," said Abdullah, who labelled the group of prominent former civil servants "extremist liberals".
He said the group risked being labelled as deviating from Islam if they continued to spread their beliefs.
"If they spread their beliefs widely, the state fatwa council can issue fatwas against them like the the Al-Arqam movement which has deviant teachings.
"If they are a threat, then let the muftis issue fatwas," said Abdullah, adding that he was in no position to issue fatwas against the group but this could be done by the respective state fatwa councils.
On December 6, G25 called for a review of the application of Islamic laws, and spoke out against criminalising personal sins such as khalwat.
In a move to establish a consultative committee, G25 urged that Shariah enactments that intruded into people’s lives be reviewed.
Their views have generated a storm of protest from conservative Muslim groups and state religious authorities. – December 11, 2015.
