Liverpool ‘Prepare to Buy’ ￡20m Striker

Anfield side target Argentine goal-scorer.

Liverpool are preparing to buy another Suarez – after Anderlecht’s ￡20million-rated striker Matias Suarez emerged as their top target.

Kop technical director Damien -Comolli has watched the 23-year-old -Argentinian in recent months – but Liverpool are just one of three Premier League clubs monitoring the player.

West Brom and another unnamed club have made their interest known to -Anderlecht, but Liverpool’s financial power has put them in pole position.

Comolli was shocked to discover how much the Belgian club want for Suarez Mk II, but Anderlecht manager Herman van Holsbeeck has revealed of host of top sides are trailing the forward.

Liverpool could well do with attacking alternatives but ￡20m seems a big fee to spend on a player with no ‘top level’ league experience and without an international cap, however the Merseyside club spent a similar amount on Jordan Henderson so perhaps Matiaz Suarez is worth at least that!

The Anderlecht man has been in fine form this term, notching up 17 goals and 11 assists and has become something of a cult figure at the Belgian side and therefore it’s no surprise that the Brussels based side are keen to cash in on his probable sale.

The 23 year old is a lively frontman and is a similar style of player to Luis Suarez so one wonders if they can play as a pair and indeed Liverpool may see Matias Suarez as a wide option, perhaps on the right flank?

Liverpool have struggled for goals with Andy Carroll failing to form a workable partnership with Suarez and the Merseyside club could well do with back-up alternatives as currently the players Kenny Dalglish can call upon are Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt, both over 30 and more effective in wide roles.

One wonders who are the third Premier League side keen on Matias Suarez but one would imagine that Liverpool are ahead of West Brom in the chase for the former Belgrano forward.

As a un-liverpool fan, aku rasa charlie is not that bad...

Yang real flop is downing and carrol.
Henderson slightly, but got future there

Dari 80an aku cuma minat liverpool aje. dari 1990 sampai skrg mmg setia menanti team pujaan aku ni jd juara semula. tak peduli lah apa korang punya penilaian, bg aku king kenny dah bawak aura positif pd team kita, tak kiralah menang penalti Carling Cup ke, skrg dh dpt masuk semi FA Cup. Ni aura yg bagus...sebab tu aku ckp liverpool satu2 yg akan dpt double season ni, Chelsea masih bernafas utk double tp belum dpt 1 pun lg...Positif, positif, double champions this season!
