Kop that, Kenny

Beaten at home by Wigan yet Kenny still finds the criticism he's getting "amazing". The solution? Stop playing all this lovely football, he says. Absolute proof that the King's crown hasn't just slipped off his head - Dalglish is currently wearing it round his ankles. Last week he implored his critics to go for an intelligence test, only to capitulate to the might of QPR and the Latics. Compared to you sunshine, I'm Mensa standard.

It might feel all warm and cosy at the time but making appointments on emotion and sentiment alone always leads to this cul-de-sac of despair where the gaffer is thinking, "They can't sack me, can they?" while the board are thinking, "We can't sack him, can we?" The answer to both is yes, and judging by the whines of many Liverpool fans at the weekend, the sooner the better.

While at least those present in the stadium deserve a modicum of credit for not turning their level of dissatisfaction up past the audibly grumpy level, Kenny was left to bemoan a disallowed goal from Luis Suarez that saw him knee Gary Caldwell - clearly the more predatory of the two players - in the back before handballing it into the net. He even managed to sully his image further by getting into a slice of touchline argy bargy with the Premier League's nicest gaffer. Roberto Martinez, I have no doubt, would happily have jogged back to Wigan if Dave Whelan wanted to save a few pence on petrol.

Lost five out of six in the league, a miserable home record, dissent from the stands? Not Wigan, my friends, but Liverpool. John Henry should have suggested the managers swap jobs upon the final whistle and have done with.

King Kenny's crown slipping

RUMORS

Liverpool have joined Manchester United and Manchester City in the race to sign Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez.

The 23-year-old's performances this season have seen him become one of the most coveted players in Europe.

Alex Ferguson, who had the chance to see Martinez close up when the Basque club knocked United out of the Europa League, is a long-term admirer of the Spain international.

He had hoped to negotiate a transfer without becoming involved in a bidding war, but City, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan have also been strongly linked with the player, who has a £34million buyout clause in his contract.

According to reports in Italy, Liverpool have now expressed an interest in the Bilbao star, although they would not be prepared to match the asking price.

United and City both regard the release clause in his contract as too high and hope to do business at around £24million.

Martinez recently suggested he is not worth the £34million his club value him at.

"I do not think there's anyone who wants to pay so much for me," the player told Mundo Deportivo.

"I see it as too much money for me. I do not think I'm worth so much."

Martinez, who can also play at centre-back, is under contract until 2016, so there is no pressure on Athletic to sell this summer.

Scott Sinclair wants to stay at Swansea following the club's dream debut season in the top-flight.

The ex-Chelsea striker, who helped the Swans gain promotion, is out of contract at the end of next season.

Liverpool are among the clubs linked with him, but Sinclair said: "I'm happy to be playing every week and to have a manager who believes in me.

"The boss has brought me in and given me that chance, so my preference would be to stay. Hopefully I can keep playing and get more goals.

"All the links to other clubs for our players just shows you how well we are doing."

Raheem Sterling ni natural position dia winger tp blum ada specific side lagi which is right atau left.
aku tgk pace dia bagus dan ada teknikal.

tapi susah jugak nak kasi pendapat.

kena tgk few games dia main dulu.

dan biar game tu crucial.

so kalau ok boleh la fight dgn downing n hendo.
