David H. McConnell didn’t originally intend to create a beauty company. A traveling book salesman, he founded Avon in 1886 after realizing his female customers were far more interested in the free perfume samples he offered than in his books. During his book selling days,McConnell had also noticed that many of his female customers were isolated at home while their husbands went off to work.

So he purposely recruited female sales Representatives.McConnell believed they had a natural ability to network with and market to other women, and a passion for his products. At a time of limited employment options for women, the Avon earnings opportunity was are volutionary concept. It marked the start of the company's long and rich history of empowering women around the globe.

Knownin those days as The California Perfume Company, the business quickly prosperedand Mr. McConnell appointed his first General Agent, Mrs. Albee. At a timebefore women even had the right to vote, Mrs. Albee was instrumental inestablishing the unique sales method that continues to be Avon's hallmarktoday.

In1914, the California Perfume Company opened its first international office inMontréal, Canada.

David H. McConnell had aspirations to expand his companyoverseas and recognized the need to change the company name. Having beenenchanted by the beauty of Stratford upon Avon during a visit to England, DavidMcConnell was inspired, and in 1939 he chose the name 'Avon' for his growinginternational company.

Avon launched its TV advertising in 1953.


Alice Roberts, a seller for Avon products, has amassed three shelves' worth of the company's collectibles. Among the highlights of the collection are more than 30  porcelain figurines of Mrs. P.F.E. Albee, which are awarded  to those who sell $10,100 in one year.

Actually apa yang i sgt teringat pasal AVON adalah kerana ada watak wakil Avon dalam cite Edward Scissorhands (1990) lakonan Johnny Depp.

An elderly woman tells a story to her granddaughter of a man with scissors for hands named Edward, the creation of an inventor. He raised Edward as his son and tutored him in various subjects, but died while in the act of offering a pair of hands to Edward. Many years later, local Avon saleswoman Peg Boggs, after failing to make profits in her suburban neighborhood, visits a Gothic mansion on a hill. There, she finds Edward, and convinces him to have her take him in.

Ai suke gak Avon terutama perfume die, ai paling suke bau Sweet Honesty, tapi make up die ai x pakai sangat, selain tue, barangan dalaman seperti bra pon oklah gak,
