The first trailer for The Bourne Legacy have gone online. The central message of the trailer is this: Jeremy Renner can kick the shit out of people just as well as Matt Damon. It’s clearly the same Bourne flavor, and audiences will be happy to get another great actor beating up bad guys. The editing moves so fast that it’s tough to tell how much writer-director Tony Gilroy‘s style will differ from Paul Greengrass‘ (who directed Supremacy and Ultimatum), but I’m eager to see what Gilroy has in store.

The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films.
For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.

anyway, filem ni blum abis shooting sebenarnya... dorang masih kat Philipines utk hari2 terakhir shooting..... rasanya mid feb baru dorang wrap......

but i like damon playing bourne - there is so much intelligent he made out of that character
and well kalau dalam novel dia punya kisah adalah linear tapi in this film - you know bourne never had any child with marie kretz ( kan marie meninggal in supremacy - jatuh jeep dalam sungai ??)
matt damon suka philosophy dan attitude edward norton sebab edward norton ni pernah nasihat atau pernah kata kat dia , after buat satu film then just shy away sebab u nak detach association org dgn karaktor you main tu ....
basically jeremy renner adalah "jason bourne"...sebab jason bourne adalah code name untuk aset treadstone dan legacy project macam blackbriar and so on and so forth...
kalau tak salah aku, even nama david webb tu pun bukan nama dia...

in the novel - nama 'jason bourne' is Dr david Webb...
tapi apa apa pun jason bourne - identity , supremacy and ultimatum memberikan satu style baru pada film berorientasikan espionage - bourne is the new breed of spy with intelligence, they do not just do things at random , senseless motive, and matt damon in the past three bourne series mentioned above , did just that.

sebab? terlalu banyak spy dimomokkan dengan ladies , gadgets etc walhal yg penting ialah strategy dan method serta intelligent depa. dan daniel craig in casino royale dah tiru sikit....this is the era where 'gadgets' and ladies, or even beutiful handsome face do not count.
neah...aku tak rase studio is that stupid to ruined the franchise dengan menjadikan Bourne Legacy as a campy masculine superspy movie macam filem James Bond sebelum era Daniel Craig...
Tony Gilroy yang sebelum ni penned all previous 3 screenplays, including this one taking huge responsibilities on putting 2 hats at the same time - director and screenwriter...so aku confident yang Bourne Legacy masih mengekalkan feel franchais Bourne yang berdasarkan realism dan gritty...
dari trailer tu aku noticed satu benda yang lacking, the shakey cam yang jadi trademark director Supremacy dan Ultimatum, Paul Greengrass...a bit dissappointed sebab aku suka shakey cam tu...kasi macam claustrophobic feeling gitu he he...
anyway, aku rasa Bourne Legacy takkan mengecewakan...dan Jeremy Renner is one of my current favorite actor sekarang neh...
dengan the brilliant Edward Norton jadi antagonis lagi...
this better be a good one...
aku cuba baca novel version of Bourne series by Ludlum...seriously aku rase the film franchaise is much much better...novel terlalu complex dengan backstory David Webb, bini siam dia, code name delta one, medusa, adik dia lagi...maybe aku tak berapa prefer setting vietnam war...

i like reading your appraisals on Bourne Movie - series, hmm...interesting
of course the novels would be different compared to the movies because those were written in the era of cold war. I recalled liman was saying , it would be damn too hard for the film crew/ team to even based on the entire plotlines of the novels - the plotlines are too complex and far too difficult.
Tang bab camera works ...yes ...greengrass loved that kind of eu - based technique - different angles and fast movement - i ok laaa tu tapi kekadang pening jugak especially masa supremacy tu kar Berlin - remember? the tram scene where daman drag stiles ( nicky ) out of the tram and into the tunnel - hallway ...tu?

as a big fan of Bourne franchise, aku tengok trilogi tu adela 2 bulan sekali...pernah gak nak rase baca Lustbader punya version tapi aku ada banyak lagi buku yang aku tak habis bace lagi..sekarang tengah nak mengabihkan World War Z (film adaptation starring Brad Pitt coming out soon) tulisan Max Brooks...
anyway...cakap pasal filmmaking style...Paul Greengrass ni asalnye documentary filmmaker...so dia dah biase dengan raw style filmmaking...mobility, fast-paced and quick-editing mmg trademark pengarah yang root dia filem dokumentari...dulu orang biase tengok fight scene in full-frame, macam filem2 jackie chan...audience boleh nampak movement sepak terajang semua..giving it the whoa factor dan sekaligus scene-scene macam tu jadi moneyshot...disadvantagenya, filem aksi jadi klise...weak plotline dan over-the-top moneyshot shadowing the other core element of filmmaking...Bourne series bermula dgn Supremacy sengaja memberi imej blur kepada fight scene yang mana aku rase ramai tak puas hati pada mulanye...tapi bile tgk balek semua action sequences yang Greengrass buat, ko akan rase dia punya chaotic moment tu macam ko sendiri yg bertumbuk...imagine doing that kind of shooting in a very tight space (scene ultimatum bourne vs. desh dekat morroco) dan crowded area yang takde sebarang crowd control to give a more realism feel (scene ultimatum mase dekat waterloo station...semua extras adalah real people yg ade kt situ mase tu dan reaction org ramai mase journalist simon ross kena tembak tu mmg real)
Bourne series adalah antara filem aksi pertama yang buat aku actually give a damn about the storyline...the whole ordeal about Treadstone dan Blackbriar membuatkan aku sangat2 intrigue...lebih dari teknik self-defence CQC dan Kali yang jason bourne guna bila jadi bad ass...
ha ha lagu moby tu aku rase org tak panggil lagu moby pun...org panggil lagu bourne....
just a quick one...worth it ke nak bace Lustbader's?...should i go for his without reading the entire Ludlum punya version?
