Barcelona test heralds start of 2009 season


Nico Hulkenberg (Williams) - F1 Testing [Day 1]


Preparations for next season take centre stage from Monday, as the majority of Formula One teams kick off their winter test programmes with a three-day session at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya in Spain.


Luca Badoer (Ferrari) - F1 Testing [Day 1]


Although it’s too early for the debut of any 2009 cars, engineers and drivers will be busy tackling the key rule changes for next season in interim machines. Among the more noticeable changes, we can expect slick tyres and revised aero packages - wider, lower wings at the front and taller, narrower ones at the rear. Less obvious will be development work on the Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems (KERS) which become legal for ’09.


Pedro De La Rossa (McLaren Mercedes) - F1 Testing [Day 1]


In terms of drivers, there will be a mixture of familiar faces and surprise turns. Five-time world rally champion Sebastien Loeb gets an informal run-out for Red Bull, as a reward for his rallying success, working alongside the team’s new driver for 2009, Sebastian Vettel, while reigning Formula Renault 3.5 champion Giedo van der Garde will step into the Renault cockpit, his prize for winning the series. With Fernando Alonso taking a well-earned break, team mate Nelson Piquet will join the Dutchman.


Lucas Di Grassi (Honda Racing) - F1 Testing [Day 1]


McLaren’s programme will be handled by Pedro de la Rosa and Gary Paffett, both experienced testers in action for all three days, while BMW Sauber will field their full 2009 line-up of Robert Kubica, Nick Heidfeld and Christian Klien.


Sebastian Loeb (Red Bull Racing) - F1 Testing [Day 1]


Honda have yet to confirm their 2009 drivers and will use the Barcelona test to evaluate two young stars, Renault’s third driver Lucas di Grassi and GP2’s Bruno Senna. They will be joined by the Japanese team’s 2008 racer Jenson Button and testing counterpart Alexander Wurz.


Christian Klien (BMW Sauber) - F1 Testing [Day 1]


Toro Rosso will also be ‘auditioning’ a crop of prospective new drivers. Incumbent Sebastien Bourdais, yet to be confirmed for ‘09, will be at the wheel, as will Red Bull tester Sebastien Buemi and former Super Aguri racer Takuma Sato. Buemi will work alongside Sato on Monday and Tuesday morning, while on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday the Swiss driver will partner Bourdais.


Vitantonio Liuzzi (Force India F1) - F1 Testing [Day 1]


Ferrari are also expected on track in Barcelona, fielding testers Marc Gene and Luca Badoer, while from Thursday Moto GP champion Valentino Rossi will step back into the Ferrari cockpit for an informal two-day run at the team’s Mugello circuit in Italy.

Alonso yakin wujud konspirasi


ALONSO mengecam konspirasi yang wujud sehingga
membolehkan Hamilton muncul juara dunia F1 musim ini.

LONDON - Bekas juara dunia sebanyak dua kali, Fernando Alonso mengecam teori konspirasi yang wujud dalam perlumbaan Formula Satu (F1).

Pemandu Sepanyol itu juga percaya bahawa Timo Glock dengan sengaja telah memberi peluang kepada Lewis Hamilton untuk bergelar juara dunia.


Menurut Alonso, Glock yang juga pemandu Toyota dengan sengaja membuka peluang kepada Hamilton untuk berada di tempat kelima, sekali gus menafikan peluang Felipe Massa untuk muncul juara.

"Ia cukup jelas bahawa Glock bersubahat dengan Hamilton untuk membenarkan pemandu McLaren itu memintasnya," jelas Alonso.

"Dalam masa yang sama, saya juga tidak tahu bagaimana dia (Glock) berjaya menamatkan perlumbaan dengan menggunakan tayar kering.

"Pada pusingan terakhir ketika hujan mula turun, semua pemandu berada pada kepantasan satu minit 20 saat dengan menggunakan tayar basah.

"Namun sebaliknya berlaku kepada Glock apabila dia mencatat masa 1.44s, iaitu kepantasan yang sama dengan rakannya dari Toyota, Jarno Trulli."

Pada aksi penutup musim di Sao Paulo lalu, Glock dianggap sebagai individu paling penting yang berjaya merealisasikan impian Hamilton untuk bergelar juara dunia termuda dalam sejarah F1.

Peranan penting Glock itu hadir pada pusingan terakhir perlumbaan ketika dia berada pada kedudukan kelima, iaitu kedudukan minimum yang diperlukan Hamilton untuk bergelar juara dunia.

Namun, Hamilton yang pada suatu ketika berada di tempat keenam berjaya memintas Glock di selekoh terakhir pusingan akhir selepas pemandu Toyota itu memperlahankan jenteranya ketika menuju ke garisan penamat. - Agensi

this season - dan ada pelumba lain yang lebih baik dari dia -
lewis hamilton deserve last year - sebab he showed great
performance --

ini juga iktibar pada kita - bila kita kalah dalam sesatu pertandingan
tak kira apa... tak perlulah cari salah orang lain - tengok diri sendiri -
alonso ni masih muda - banyak lagi masa nak improve kan skill dia -

Raikkonen mula bosan aksi F1


RAIKKONEN lalui musim penuh mencabar pada perlumbaan F1 tahun ini.


LONDON - Bekas juara dunia, Kimi Raikkonen mengakui bahawa dia seperti sudah hilang minat untuk beraksi dalam perlumbaan Formula Satu (F1).

Pemandu pasukan Ferrari itu juga menganggap kegagalannya mengekalkan motivasi pada perlumbaan musim ini sebagai antara punca dia sering kecewa dalam setiap perlumbaan.

Raikkonen melalui musim penuh mencabar tahun ini apabila dia hanya merekodkan dua kemenangan iaitu pada awal musim sebelum gagal meraih sebarang mata dalam empat perlumbaan berturut-turut bermula pada Grand Prix (GP) Valencia.

Juara edisi 2007 itu juga terkeluar daripada saingan pemburuan kejuaraan selepas hanya menduduki tempat ketiga pada GP Jepun, iaitu antara keputusan terbaik yang dicatat pemandu dari Finland.

Sebaliknya, rakan sepasukannya, Felipe Massa terus mempamerkan konsisten, sebelum akur kepada juara dunia, Lewis Hamilton dengan kekalahan satu mata.

Namun bagi Raikkonen, dia sedar bahawa kekecewaan yang dilalui musim ini menimbulkan keraguan mengenai kesungguhannya untuk bersaing pada tahun depan.

"Ini sahaja yang ada," jelas Raikkonen merujuk kepada penampilannya musim ini.

"Jika kamu tahu yang kamu hanya bersaing untuk tempat ketiga, maka kamu mungkin tidak mampu untuk memberikan aksi terbaik seperti mana keadaan biasa.

"Jika kamu tiada peluang untuk memintas dan memperbaiki kedudukan, maka sangat jelas bahawa saingan ini mungkin tidak lagi menarik.

"Tapi, jika kami bersaing untuk memburu kejuaraan, ia adalah satu persaingan yang sempurna."

Raikkonen juga sedar bahawa segala kritikan yang dilemparkan dan sokongan yang diberikan telah menguatkan semangatnya untuk kekal dalam kelompok pemandu elit.

"Walaupun perasaannya (Raikkonen) tidak begitu baik, dia tetap tampil sebagai pemandu profesional," jelas jurucakap Ferrari, Luca Colajanni iaitu individu yang banyak memberi sokongan moral kepada Raikkonen. - Agensi
