Tuan,

Re: 007 Lelaki Malaysia Terakhir - Pendedahan Paling Berani Skandal X-files
by Mutalib MD ISBN 983-2263-20-4 on P184 - Malaysian passport issued to a 'Pakistani'
I am writing this letter to alert the caring and genuine Government that there is this Malalaysian passport No. H12173314 was issued to a 'Pakistani' known as Mohamed Bin Amzala Khan for a period of ONE year from 7th May 2002 - 7th May 2003 as per attached. Even genuine Malaysian would not get such passport
At least two Police Reports were made in Karamunsing and Keningau over this book of 547 pages just a few days before polling day on 8th March 2008.
I do not intend to lodge a Police Report on this case as it would be endless if every item in that book is subject to treason.
The alleged practice of issuing such passports is known for a long time but I only managed to get this one found in the book.
As it is a serious matter, why should such passports be issued to 'foreigners' who may bring irreversible bad image and publicity for Malaysia as such characters can be involved with undesirable activities such as terrorism, drug trafficking, human trafficking etc.
By the way, I had also lodged 21 Police Reports (2004-2007) supported by nearly one thousand pages of documents but little is known of the utcome of investigation if any.
According to Immigration statistics, more than 800,000 questionable Malaysians have departed from Sabah for the period 1995-2004 for good. (EPIC of Sabah). These people are likely dubious Malaysian citizens.
I trust that the Government would take immediate action on this item as identified in the book while the facts of the whole book should be investigated.

Thank you, Daulat Tuanku,

Yours faithfully,

DAILY EXPRESS NEWS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eye on passport syndicate
Kota Kinabalu: The Immigration Department is keeping a close watch at all entry points in Sabah to detect an international syndicate involved in selling Malaysian passports to foreigners.

"We have instructed our intelligence officers to be on the alert against this syndicate," said Sabah Immigration Director Datuk Baharon Talib.

He said although the situation was under control, the department would not take it lightly as such activity posed a security threat to the nation.

"We (Immigration Department) will ensure members of the syndicate will not enter and make Sabah their transaction centre," he said.

Baharon was commenting on the arrest of two Malaysians found in possession of Sri Lanka international passports at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) here on April 30 this year.

The two - P Shankar a/l Palaniandy from Shah Alam and Alvin a/l Arulappan - were caught between 12.20am and 12.30am at the KKIA's immigration counter.

Shankar was subsequently charged under Section 12(1)(1) of the Passport Act 1966 and jailed one week and fined RM4,000 or another 30 days in jail for being in possession of the Sri Lanka passport.

Alvin was charged under Section 12(1)(b) of the Passport Act 1966 and placed on a good behaviour bond.

Sessions Court Judge Ummo Kalthum Abdul Samad, who meted out the sentence, said Alvin was lucky not to be sent to jail.

According to Baharon, Alvin was detained when he produced a Sri Lanka passport at the KKIA's immigration counter upon arriving from a flight from Kuala Lumpur.

"My officers were curious when a Sri Lanka passport holder was fluent in Bahasa Malaysia," Baharon said, adding that upon questioning Alvin produced his MyKad.

He added that Alvin was nervous when more questions were asked, especially how he, being a Malaysian, was travelling using a Sri Lanka passport. During interrogation, Alvin confessed that he was brought in by an Indian, later known to be Shankar.

Baharon said Alvin later brought the immigration officers to a person who was still waiting to collect his baggage, adding a body search found he was in possession of a Sri Lanka passport, a Malaysian passport and a MyKad.

According to Baharon, Shankar had told his officers that he was a taxi driver and needed to earn extra income while Alvin was a college student.

Baharon said both refused to reveal why they were in possession of a Sri Lanka passport and how much they were paid by the syndicate.

However, according to an intelligence report, a syndicate was buying Malaysian international passports to be sold to Sri Lanka nationals. "The syndicate is targeting Malaysian Indians," Baharon said.

He disclosed that the modus operandi of the syndicate was that they were looking and buying Malaysian passports from Malaysian Indians who have a similar face with their Sri Lanka clients.

It was believed that the syndicate is willing to offer to buy Malaysian passports for between RM40,000 and RM50,000 each.

So far, the Immigration Department had detected three Sri Lanka nationals trying to travel by using Malaysian passports.

On why they wanted Malaysian passports, Baharon said: "It is because of easy entry to any country they like."

Baharon warned that any Malaysian found guilty of selling their passport to a foreigner was committing a serious offence and could be charged and punished with a heavy sentence.

He said presently, anyone claiming to have lost his or her passport would not be able to get a replacement from the department without a thorough investigation.

"We might reject their applications to have a new passport," said Baharon, adding that a few applications had been rejected.

Meanwhile, the Immigration Department also detained several foreign nationals found in possession of tampered Malaysian passports, with most of them from China, India and Sri Lanka.
