Asalnya 2 Mi-17 tu untuk polis,tapi tak dapat meet DCA certification requirements.So bagi Bomba pakai,tapi pakai registration military seperti 2 mi-17 yang sebelumnya.Yang bawa Mi-17 bomba tu pilot epos (sbb registration military punya),tak percaya pergi kat base dorg kat airod,agusta A109 sahaja guna pilot bomba sbb register under civil.

Tp kalo DCA reject Polis nyer requirement, then Bomba nyer musti ada problem gak or diorg g upgraded to fulfill Bomba requirement...

Bukan DCA reject polis punya requirement, helicopter tu tak dapat meet spec yang ditetapkan oleh DCA, taula kan helikopter russia ni. Untuk membolehkan helikopter tersebut beroperasi under polis, kena daftar registration civil (cth: 9m-PHE,9M-PHA,9M-PHB,9M-PHJ). DCA ni mcm jpj la, then helikopter MI-17 yang tak dapat certify tu kira macam tak lepas checking Puspakom la . So kerajaan passing la kat military,military tak payah daftar under DCA. Tengokla semua registration 4 biji MI-17 yang kat subang tu, semua registration military(M994-01,M994-02, M994-03, M994-04). celup cat bomba jer sbb kasi bomba pakai. Tapi yang fly Mi-17 tu pilot epos tapi kerjasama  dengan Unit Udara Bomba.

senang cerita la, helikopter tu tak boleh register DCA, so tak boleh pakai. sama mcm kereta-if tak boleh register ngan JPJ tak boleh pakai.

hmmm... interesting.

wa punya source citer lain plak. al-kisahnya polis memang ndak medium lift helicopter (sebab apa pon tak taww). depa mintak kat gomen dan dipaksa pakai Mi-17 yang direjek TUDM. Ingat tak dulu ada satu majalah pertahanan yang siar gambo 2 bijik Mi-17 yang dicat ijau katak pisang? tu la Mi-17 polis punya.

tapi polis takmo (sebab kureng seksi kot? ) apapon, gomen takmo dengar. so polis stuck dengan heli tu. kira macam kawen paksa la kot? tapi polis tak putus asa dan tak pendek akal. last-last berjaya jugak depa mengelak dengan dibantu oleh satu klausa dalam kontrak heli tuh.

bab heli tu register military punya registration, ini disebabkan oleh bomba takde pelot sendiri dan guna pelot TUDM. pelot TUDM pulak tak leh bawak heli yang under civil registration sebab depa takde lesen. so tu sebabnya Mi-17 pakai registration military.

bab registration dan certification drp DCA, source wa cakap memang Mi-8 takde DCA punya certification tapi Mi-17 ada FAA punya punya rasanya. bila wa check balik, wa jumpa ada 2-3 kompeni yang pakai Mi-8 dan Mi-17 dan beroperasi di negara barat. diantaranya AYR Group, Skytech helicopters, Sky Link Inc, Helicopter services dan Timberlands. kalo betul Mi-17 takde FAA atau DCA punya certification, camno dia boleh operate kat negara-negara barat eiks?

yup dulu Mi-17 tu warna ijau katak pisang, dorg letak kat apron SME aviation sebelah Hangar RMAF subang. Dorg buat leaking test time tu, sebelum cat. Mengenai setengah Mi-17 ada certification ke idak. It depends..Mi-17 ni bukan satu company jer yang buat..ada beberapa-KAZAN, Mil, ULAN-UDE. Kualiti lain2. Tak silap aku 2 mi-17 bomba yang lama dorg beli drp Kazan, yang baru 2 bijik baru yang guna ramp door tu dorg beli drp Ulan-Ude. Kazan ni tak silap aku la, ada buat JV dengan local company utk. bab2 jual Mi-17 ni, nama dia Mentari Air Services Sdn. Bhd...tapi wa tak tau la Mentari ni JP inc. ke idak.  Macam Agusta-Westland jv dgn Deftech. Tapi wa tak tau Mentari ngan Kazan ni still JV lagi ke idak.

heli bomba yg 2x awal tuh dari kazan (KHP), clam shell
dua 2x yg asalnya KDNKA tuh dari Ulan Ude (U-UAP), ada ramp
beza kat muncung paling jelas, byk lagi beza skit2
bukan Mentari je bwk masuk Mi-17 nowadays
gambar atas nampak mcm Ulan-Ude punye

"BOMBA" reinforcement


Recently BOMBA Fire and Rescue AirOperation Unit of Malaysia was reinforced by new helicopters. Thesewere a couple of new Mi-171 supplied to Malaysia by Ulan-Ude AviationPlant (U-UAP) in September, 2004. Before BOMBA had operated two RussianMi-17-1V helicopters made by Kazan Helicopter Plant (supplied in1998-1999). Efforts of Malaysian engineers converted those aircraftsinto fire-fighting. Malaysia authorities, satisfied by the experiencefrom operation of Russian helicopters, made a decision to place anorder for a new batch of Mi-17. This time U-UAP was selected as asupplier.

The agreement of supplying a couple of Mi-171Shhelicopters to Malaysia for Ministry of Home Affairs was signed inJuly, 2003 and simultaneously there were harmonised basic issues onsale of a larger batch of aircrafts from Ulan-Ude, consisting of tentransport-combat Mi-171Sh for Malaysian Ministry of Defense. Solemnsigning of this contract between "Rosoboronexport" and Malaysian statecompany AIROD took place during previous exhibition in Langkawi onOctober 1, 2003.

Mi-171Sh from Ulan-Ude distinguished fromalready available in the country Kazan Mi-17-1V by availability ofdescending rear ramp and "dolphin-shaped" nose dome of the weatherradar. Besides there was an intention to apply thereon some westernavionics systems and optical-electronic systems of South Africancompanies. Part of western equipment was intended for installation onhelicopters directly in Malaysia.

Howeverin 2004 Malaysians decided not to assign two new helicopters to policebut annex it to "BOMBA" which was done after U-UAP had supplied to thecountry two Mi-171 with modified airframe. On-site the aircrafts wereequipped with some systems of SAR equipment but no armament systems (ason Mi-171Sh) and western avionics were available there.

Replyingto the interview of "Vzlet" reporter about destiny of next tenaircrafts, U-UAP General Director Leonid Belykh intimated that thesituation was uncertain: the customer has yet to decide what technical"pattern" of the helicopters is required. Therefore contractperformance has been postponed so far. As far as two helicopters fromUlan-Ude already supplied to "BOMBA" are concerned, flight andtechnical personnel is highly pleased with these aircrafts.

Techniciansmaintaining Mi-171 told the author that the aircraft has a number ofadvantages as compared to Mi-17-1V. In the end of 2004 and beginning of2005 "BOMBA" helicopters were intensively used in relief operationafter ruinous tsunami in south-east Asia and earned highest appraisal.Mi-17-1V and Mi-171 belonging to Malaysian rescuers became participantsof the flight program at last year exhibition LIMA 2005.
