JK's Digest No. 36 of July 2007 (215 of 2007) Siti Fatimah Tan Abdullah

This case of a person converting into Islam to marry a man especially foreigner is an eye opener.

Whatever the motive of the marriage that happened and so short lived, the people must learn a lesson from it as suffering is inevitable but can be avoided if we look at that in proper perspective.

Did Siti marry the Iranian Ferdoun Ashanian for his wealth? Some people do fall in love with the person and the related wealth.

There are quite a few cases out there and even in Sabah where rich Pakistanis have wooed local women with their wealth. How their marriages had survived, we do not know.

I am told these rich men would not have the licences to drive the luxurious cars hence the wives become their drivers.

As a caution, how come rich men do not have licences to drive cars and so the next question is that how do they get their wealth?

It is known that many have acquired ill gotten wealth via terrorism as Al Qaeda wants to spread its wing across the world as widely as possible to enable it to rule the world in a dream. Would that be a bad dream when the operatives are loaded with millions of Ringgit?

So the next question is how do they acquire such wealth via terrorism or illicit drugs?

It is very sensitive security scenarios when there are nations sponsoring such terrorists and would Malaysia via the petrol company be one of the sponsors to the Islamic terror group as Malaysia is so proud to call itself an Islamic State?

I think the global intelligence should be able to tell us about that so that we do not allow such people to come over to marry the local to bring devastation in the medium and long term.

It is also suspected that Pakistani can have access to our Immigration Department hence have also acquired Malaysian Passports. If some of them are involved with questionable businesses and terrorism, then Malaysia would have a bad name. I hope the Police would look into this.

Some of our local VIPs have been involved in passports for Pakistanis as it was mentioned in the case of murder case of Assistant Minister Datuk Norjan Khan Bhadar on 11 February 2004. Why should she be involved with foreigners passports? It is also rumoured that such passports are worth a lot of money in the black market.  Again, I hope the Police can look into this.
