Tawau: Veteran politician Datuk Haji Mohd Noor Mansur described the entry Umno into Sabah as "the biggest mistake", claiming that the party does not have the capability of safeguarding Sabahans' interests.

The people still remain poor, their rights eroded and lands taken away from them "as though struck by a tsunami", he said, after a meet-the-people session at Tanjung Baru, near here.

He claimed the people of Sabah were unhappy with Umno's presence, as evidenced by "the exodus from Umno, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Parti Keadilan Rakyat and other parties to join Parti Barisan Rakyat Sabah (BRS)."

In tandem with the increase in the salaries of State and Federal civil servants, the increase in prices of goods had posed financial constraints on the people in general, he added.

Mohd Noor, who was Finance Minister during the Berjaya administration, said the time had come for the people to unite for their State to be governed by a local party, and not "outsiders like Umno".

He pointed out that the State had been independent for more than 40 years, and should, therefore, by governed by a local party, as in neighbouring Sarawak.

Asked on his position in BRS, Mohd Noor said that he was, in principle, the head of the party, but this had to be determined by its annual general meeting in August, in accordance with the party's constitution.

On another note, he said he would not join in the 50th independence celebrations of the country this year, "owing to the fact that both Sabah and Sarawak achieved independence from the colonial yolk on Sept. 16, 1963, and not Aug. 31.

"Sabah and Sarawak in reality never joined Malaysia. On the contrary, Sabah and Sarawak were instrumental in the formation of Malaysia, in partnership with the then Malaya.

"In other words, 'no Sabah, no Sarawak' means 'No Malaysia'.

We cannot change the facts and history no matter what," he said.

Musa Aman spents lots of time in Singapore WITHOUT the approval or knowledge of PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, and, today he has done it again.
Infact, all Chief Ministers and Menteri Besars must get prior approval from the PM whenever they leave the country official or unofficial. How come Musa Aman goes to Singapore every month to meet his timber nominees to get his payments without the PM's approvals?
The frequencies of traveling to Singapore can be checked by PM and the ACA very easily via immigration records and his passport, but, are they willing to do it? Why are they protecting this clown Musa Aman Khan? Why?
