JK's Digest No. 2 of June 2007 (155 of 2007) Does he deserve to die soon?


The illicit drugs and other vices have too many tentacles.


There is not much for many people to live for. Why?


Despite the harsh warning of illicit drugs dealing, many people rich and poor are involved with that venture of death penalty if caught.


Two major cases come to my mind.


The latest case is that involving the younger brother of the infamous Deputy Federal Minister once in charge of the "China" squat girl which turned out to be a deception for a hidden agenda. There was great embarrassment for the Government of Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

The other is that of a cleaner charged for raping and killing of someone who could be known to the cleaner at the airport. The circumstances that were exposed though discreet give away some secret that the women were regularly doing overseas trips. Could both the man now sentenced to death for gruesome murder and the dead woman be involved with drug trafficking aided and abetted by the cleaner at the airport to bypass the various airport checks? Then the woman betrayed the man who said that He was not "guilty" killing the woman in Allah's name. If the authorities concern could get a confession, the man could be sentenced to death as well for illicit drug trafficking.


Back to the latest case as the couple could get past the airport security checks, possibly not once but this time they are caught. How could they get past the various checks at the Kuala Lumpur airport or they just collected the items at the KKIA? So who aided them in this 'death' deal? Can the brother be implicated? The newspaper was used to convey a message that they were drugs users rather than dealers.
We also know there are lots of illicit drugs to meet the demand of the some people and how do the substances come in? I was told of a case where the passenger from Subic Bay just walk out the of the arrival Customs checks by shaking hands without checking the hand luggage. When someone asked the Customs Officer about that, he just responded "where?"
For this Deputy Federal Minister only one local paper of the three mentioned the said minister by name, and so it is like Lina Joy case of 2:1.


Illicit sex, illicit drugs, illegals, illegalities, ill gotten gains, incest, intoxicating drinks, ill health etc are very much part and parcel of the poor and frustrated society today wearing out the well being of the society generally.


Without a total change of the system, there is no way that such social ills tearing apart the nation of 50 years can be eradicated. To add on the adverse gravity of the social expectation in frustration to face the challenge, nothing would change for the better as such efforts or programmes to reduce the scourge would incur too much good money against the run down inevitable.
