FAKE EDUCATION

I wrote about the adverse impacts of the early budget due to the earlier Puasa Month in 2006 in two digests.

Now the it is the very date of the examinations of the UPSR.

If nobody including Principals and senior teachers are not saying something about this, I would like to ask the following questions:-

Should not this be addressed by the Minister of Education, who had defended his way of holding the kris?

Did the students of UPSR (Lower Secondary student) complete their annual syllabus for the examinations?   How many months did they study in 2006 to prepare for this important examinations?  Is it too much disruptions to the cycles of proper studies affecting performance of students?

Is it a deliberate attempt by somebody to "hijack" the answer papers in Perak as a protest?  (read the news item below).

While many fake things are around us, this premature examination is going to produce 'fake students' with dubious capability.

No wonder the system is loaded with so much fakes of everything including fake medicines and fake doctorate degrees, that we are having "lost generations" let alone talk of future leaders.

While we prepare for the eternity in hell or heaven, we must always prepare ourselves well while on earth.

I think at the present moment there are too many activities out there to be wasteful.   Most people are poorly educated in a poor system dominated by race and religion.  How to compete with others in globalisation when some languages especially English are keys to global success? There are too much anomalies and many cannot catch up with the world.

BLAME OURSELVES, right.

MEB To Decide Whether Manjung Students Need To Resit UPSR
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Examination Board (MEB) will decide whether the students in Manjung district, Perak whose Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) answer papers were stolen on Tuesday, will have to resit the examination.

Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the MEB must explain to the parents involved and the options opened to them so that they would not be victimised.

"This is beyond our control. Let MEB announce the actions or steps to be taken," he told reporters after launching the Federal Territory Rakan Cop Bestari and 2006 St John Institution's Co-curriculum Appreciation Day, here Friday.

In the incident, a Pos Malaysia Berhad van ferrying UPSR answer papers from 30 schools in Manjung district, Perak was driven away by robbers when it stopped at the Simpang Post Office on Tuesday.

The van which was on its way to hand over the papers to the MEB collection centre in Taiping had stopped at the post office in Simpang to make a cash collection when it was ambushed by robbers.

Hishammuddin who expressed his sympathy to the parents and teachers said the ministry might use other mode of transportation to transfer the answer papers in future for security reason.

On Rakan Cop Bestari, a community service in combating crime, he said it was meant to encourage students to assist police in tracking criminals and the programme would be expanded to other states soon.
