SANITISATION OF FOOD DELIVERY BAGS NOW IN QUESTION

PETALING JAYA: While food delivery service is lauded for ensuring meals are accessible to the public during the movement control order (MCO) period, there are questions over the need for further safeguards to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Food delivery companies such as GrabFood and Foodpanda and several others had recently announced several measures to better protect its employees, service partners and customers from the virus.

Among them were giving their riders masks and hand sanitiser with instructions to wash their hands every two hours and after each delivery.

In addition, riders and customers have been told to maintain a one-metre distance during delivery that adopts cashless payment methods to minimise contact.

The contactless delivery, launched at the start of the MCO, allows riders to deliver orders at designated spots such as in front of customers’ homes or offices.

Mandatory daily temperature checks have also been implemented for employees and delivery partners.

However, sanitisation of the food delivery bags or pouches was not spelled out under the recent measures.

When contacted, a Foodpanda spokesman merely said to refer to the company’s earlier press statement, while a GrabFood spokesman noted that the company will issue regular updates during the MCO.

It was reported that the Harvard Medical School advises against ordering takeout during the outbreak, while the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) says it’s safe as long as customers practise social distancing with restaurant staff.

The FDA added there is no evidence of food or food packaging being associated with transmission of Covid-19.

Heran, bermula tukang potong2, tukang masak, tukang ceduk, tukang bungkus, Dan tukang bawa, dah brp byk makan kamu lalui proses berjalan tangan bertukar tangan,  kamu  nampak mereka bersin kah bercakap bersembur korek hidung masuk makanan,  makanan naik motor kena hujan panas maki hamun driver lain pergi tandas pegang tombol pergi stesen petrol pegang nozel pegang railing yang tak dettol
Masak sendirilah 10-20 minit

Ya. Perasan perkara ni. Tu sbb meols lbh suka masak di rumah. Duit cash pun meols basuh dgn air sabun.

Masak sendiri saja simple2 pun dah memadai bagi iols..mmg tak teringin la nk oder delivery sepanjang mco ni..

sekarang sedang tunggu dalam kereta mahu beli roti canai ... lupa mahu bawa duit kecil rm 1..5..10  dan coin ...terpaksa keep the change lah nampak nya..hand santizer pun tidak bawa sebab akan dispose hand glove once masuk kereta

Kalau kedai ambil order banyak banyak belum tentu dia orang jaga kebersihan. Ewww goli tekak den mengimaginekan masakan yang dimasak oleh perkerja Indon di kedai makan lalu dimasukkan kedlm bag penghantar yang entah bila dicuci entah.

Tefikir benda yg sama jgk..mcm mana tahap kebersihan diorg yg msk byk2 ni...saya nasib duk dgn org tua...memang msk je kat rumah

sape yg ade termakan makanan luar/keluar beli barang, tolong la sukarela reset incubation period. aku takut dgn manusia yg menipu tempoh kuarantin, lagikan pesakit pon ada yg tipu penah close contact dgn positive covid19 sampai brp spital tutup, staff terjangkit. tak bertamadun sungguh perangai

Aku pelik ramai sgt yg order makanan luar...tak terpikir ke klu yg tukang pack makanan tu kena, kan dah berjangkit tu

ya, itu yang sebetulnya. tolong jadi seorang yang bertanggungjawab/amanah. macam saya pangkah pada kalendar apa saja aktiviti luar sebelum kawalan pergerakan hari tu. jadi mudah untuk saya kira dan ingat saya ke mana jika ada apa apa berlaku..

Bhn mentah yg  ada covid pun , if di masak panas2 , like goreng ayam , masak sup. Safe la kowt. Katanya covid tak tahan suhu terlalu tinggi kan. Just takut time deliver ja tercemar.
