PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia must properly define what statements are considered insulting to the royal institution, says Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“At the moment, our enforcement officers do not understand what is considered insult, so we need to spell out what sort of actions or words can be construed as insults.
“I have said before that Malaysia now practises freedom of speech.
“With this freedom of speech, if you say something is factual, you cannot be prosecuted.
“On the other hand, if we shut the mouths of everyone until people cannot even speak up against acts of crime, then there will be injustice in the country,” said Dr Mahathir at a press conference here.
The Prime Minister was commenting on the arrests of three individuals for insulting Sultan Muhammad V, who recently stepped down as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Police arrested two men aged 46 and 27 and a woman aged 26 under the Sedition Act over comments they made on Facebook and Twitter, which they deemed insulting towards the royal institution.
The arrests have drawn criticism from several quarters in the public, who felt it was contradictory to Pakatan Harapan's promise to abolish the Sedition Act.
Dr Mahathir had earlier chaired the sixth meeting of the Special Cabinet Committee on Anti-Corruption. |

melayu tak nak kalah dengan Siam gamaknya...
bab2 pertanian dan hospitality mereka tak nak pula kau tiru...

frankly bagi aku komen acik TNB dan doktor keling tu takde lah melamp ...
"Let's not have royals anymore.." memang menghasut. Let's tu istilah mengajak so kantoi di situ.
Kes duktur yindia itu pule angkare pengadu yang mengadu pakai kepale lutut jah. Knee-jerk reaction kata omputih.. He was juz stating the obvious. Can anybody counter the prektis of poligami? Can anybody counter that even the common man would resort to soliciting given the resource & opportunity? Are all Russian chicks prostitutes?? Aku dulu kat obersi pon orang boleh panggey Asian chick ape.. Chicks aren't pelacur la oii.. |

The british royalties are always being talked about & criticised dgn words yg agak pedih...but they remain calm about it most of the time. Takde pulak citizens sana yg mintak secara serius hapuskan monarki. Tetap juga ramai2 tunggu tepi jalan nak babai, selfie, bagi bunga bagai...
I bukan kata style rakyat sana patut dicontohi 100% ye...tapi part "berlapang dada" british royalty bila kena kutuk itu yg dijadikan contoh.
Selagi takde penggunaan vulgar words & hasutan yg berapi2 & menipu terang2an...biar la rakyat nk luahkan perasaan & pendapat.
Terlalu berhati tisu, sentap sokmo, sikit2 nak tangkap, nampak sgt being spoilt. Lagi lah besar the gap between the people & royalties. |

Huh? There are no British royalties. Only tabloid journalism.
Depe tu cam kenai la sangat royals tu. Aku ingat lagi time aku A-Levels ade event sekolah, the head girl's mom taknak nyanyi GSTQ. Sebelah aku je time tu dudok bertabor kat field. Dia kata memang tak kuase nak nyanyi coz geli but time tu yang heboh pon kes 'Squidgy' tu jah.. Cam bangang.
So ekceli yang raje kat sana tu all those tabloids jah.. Raje pulak yang menikus. |

Aku penah cakap dulu, kena differentiate antara 3 perkara berikut:
1. Menegur raja
2. Kritik raja
3. Hina raja
Yang #1 dan #2 tidak sepatutnya dihukum kalau disertakan fakta. Jika 1 dan 2 diatas takde fakta, boleh dianggap sebagai hina raja. Hanya yg #3 patut dihukum.
.... setakat ni, perbuatan tegur raja, kritik raja dan hina raja semua di lump sebagai satu dan dianggap secara blanket sebagai hina raja  |

Bg iols kalau ada perkara tak elok yg raja2 ni buat n mmg betul2 berlaku mmg selayaknya dihina.....
Menghina atas perkara tak benar tu ptut ditangkap. Fitnah
