do we go for 3BM-42M or later version? or we will stick Pretis M88 or M04?

found out alot ammunition cannot use by normal 125mm gun or t-72

The M04 is stated to penetrate 540 mm of Rolled Homogeneous Armour (RHA) at 0° at a range of 2,000 m. Dispersion at that range is said to be 0.5 m vertical and 0.5 m horizontal.Although these rounds are specified as compatible with the 2A46 gun of the T-72, because of their unique ballistics, some modifications to the fire-control system would be required. That of the M84 tank already includes ballistic information for the M88.

    im not sure & don't know much about the ammunition......but i heard ours not using 2A46M main cannon........PT-91M r using the upgrade version of main canon 2A46MS which can increase about 20-23% of 1st hit probability compare to the old version (2A46M).....using the new fire control system this PT-91M can select 6 different types of ammunition.

KLS’s Announcement

Kuala Lumpur Security Review or better known as KLS was formed on September 16, 2007 in conjunction with the celebration of 74th Anniversary of Malaysian Armed Forces Day and Malaysia Day.

Learning that there was no online news agency which focused on reporting Malaysia and regional security, defence and strategic news and analysis, therefore, KLS was the pioneer to fill this vacuum.

However, after running the website for almost three years, KLS found that it is hard to maintain the website without having financial support and advertisement.

Thus, the Editorial Team had decided unanimously to shut down the website. The Editorial Team wants to thank everyone who had given wholehearted supports, whether financially/physically or mentally, in these three years.

CTRM, ATE jalin kerjasama bangunkan sistem pesawat TUDM

KUALA LUMPUR 23 Sept. - Anak syarikat Composites Technology Research Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CTRM), CTRM System Integration Sdn. Bhd. (CSI) bakal memulakan kerjasama strategik dengan Advanced Technologies and Engineering Co. (Pty) Ltd. (ATE) dari Afrika Selatan bagi membangunkan sistem pesawat dalam inventori Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM).

Unit Komunikasi Korporat Kementerian Pertahanan dalam satu kenyataan semalam memberitahu, pemilihan ATE oleh CTRM dibuat berdasarkan keupayaan syarikat dari Afrika Selatan itu dalam membangunkan pelbagai sub sistem pesawat dari seluruh dunia selama ini.

"Program Kerjasama Strategik ini bertujuan mewujudkan keupayaan integrasi pesawat ketenteraan di Malaysia.

"Program ini akan dilaksanakan secara berperingkat dan perjanjian ini menyaksikan langkah awal ATE mewujudkan keupayaan integrasi di dalam CTRM, dengan tujuan memodenkan operasi pesawat sedia ada ke satu tahap keupayaan beroperasi yang lebih tinggi," kata kenyataan itu.

Kelmarin, satu majlis menandatangani perjanjian persefahaman di antara kedua-dua syarikat itu berlangsung di Cape Town, sempena pameran Aeroangkasa dan Pertahanan Afrika (AAD) 2010.

Majlis itu turut disaksikan Menteri Pertahanan, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi; Panglima TUDM, Jeneral Datuk Seri Rodzali Daud dan Panglima Tentera Udara Afrika Selatan, Leftenan Jeneral Carlo Gagiano.

Kenyataan itu menambah, Malaysia dan Afrika Selatan berupaya menjalinkan kerjasama strategik yang baik dalam bidang ketenteraan memandangkan kedua-duanya menggunakan beberapa pesawat sama dalam angkatan tentera udara masing-masing seperti Hawk dan C-130.

It's a pity the RMAF Gripen project was abandoned.. we could've had a first class fighter platform in our ORBAT.Instead,we're left with a rojak fleet of many types that doesn't 'talk' to each other.The Gripen project could've changed all that,with Erieye as an added bonus,giving the RMAF capabilities that it never had before.

Sad.

tak tau ler depa nih betui2 abandon ke atau saja nk buat surprise. kalu depa nak establish 6 skdn mrca dgn kos yg murah tapi effective, SGripen is the answer to our affordability and capability requirement. juat add another sqdn of SUKs and buy 4 sqdns of Sgripen.... that's it.
