Yoon Suk Ho Has High Expectations for Jang Keun Suk
Yoon Suk Ho, the producer who helmed Winter Sonata and Autumn in My Heart revealed his high expectations for Jang Keun Suk, star of Yoon’s upcoming drama Love Rain.
Yoon spoke highly of Jang’s potential while appearing on KBS2’s Star documentary - Center of the New Hallyu, I Am Jang Keun Suk, which aired on January 1 in Korea.
The producer opened his remarks by saying, “Jang Keun Suk stays sharp and smart even when he is exhausted. He learned right away when he was told about something he missed.”
He continued, “When I say, for example, he has to show his emotions more clearly when he acts in a scene where he′s excited to see someone for the first time in a long time, he understands it right away. I think he′s especially quick on his feet because he applies what I say to his acting immediately.”
In Love Rain, Jang has taken on the role of model student, In Ha, in 1970s as well as the role of his son, Seo Joon, in 2012. Many are wondering how Jang is going to give life to Yoon Seok Ho drama’s signature sentimental mood.
Back in the old days, Bae Yong Jun became a household name in Japan, thanks to his role in Winter Sonata. With the growing popularity of the drama, Japanese women deemed Bae the ideal Korean man and ′Yonsama′ has enjoyed high popularity ′Yonsama’ ever since.

KBS eyes March broadcast date for YoonA & Jang Geun Suk’s ‘Love Rain’
KBS‘s highly-anticipated drama, ‘Love Rain‘, may hit the small screens in March!
A representative from the production staff spoke with TV Daily on January 16th and revealed, ”Although details haven’t been confirmed yet, KBS has expressed their wish to air ‘Love Rain’ in March. Scenes from the ’70s story arc have already been completed, and we are scheduled to continue filming in the beginning of March.”
Directed by PD Yoon Suk Ho (of ‘Autumn Fairytale‘ and ‘Winter Sonata‘ fame), ‘Love Rain’ exhibits the pure emotions of love during the ’70s, as well as the trendy love of today’s society. Both actor Jang Geun Suk and Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA play dual roles.
Should everything go as planned, ‘Love Rain’ could broadcast on March 26th, after the conclusion of ‘Dream High 2‘.
Jang Geun Suk and SNSD's YoonA to Go Overseas for "Love Rain"
Upcoming drama “Love Rain” has received a lot of attention both at home and overseas for its stellar lineup, famous director, and popular screen writer. “Love Rain” stars hallyu star Jang Geun Suk and SNSD’s YoonA as its main leads and also includes “Super Star K’s” Seo In Gook, “Rival's” Kim Si Hoo, “Spy Myung Wol’s” Son Eun Seo, and “Smile Mom’s” Hwang Bo Ra.
Producers of the series announced that there is a strong possibility that “Love Rain” will air on KBS once “Dream High 2” ends in March. The cast and crew have already completed filming the 1970s scenes, and shooting the present day scenes will resume in late February/early March in Japan. Jang Geun Suk, YoonA, Kim Si Hoo, and other central characters will officially kick off filming the 2012 scenes in Hokaido, Japan, where they will film their characters’ first encounter with each other.
“Love Rain” is a melo-love story set in two different periods – the 1970s and 2012. Jang Geun Suk and YoonA play Seo In Ha and Kim Yoon Hee, two college students who fall in love with each other in the 1970s; unfortunately, these two do not get their happily ever after. Fast forward to the present, Seo Joon, In Ha’s son (also played by Jang Geun Suk) meets and falls in love with Ha Na, Yoon Hee’s daughter (also played by YoonA). Jang Geun Suk’s 1970s Seo In Ha is a romantic arts student who is willing to lay down his life for the love of his life. His son Seo Joon, on the other hand, is a carefree photographer who enjoys a freewheeling lifestyle. YoonA’s 1970s Kim Yoon Hee is a pure, elegant “campus goddess,” while her daughter Ha Na is a bright and lovable character.
Director Yoon Seok Ho and writer Oh Soo Yeon, the masterminds behind the sensational melodramas “Winter Sonata” and “Autumn in my Heart” have teamed up once again to produce “Love Rain.” With the combination of Jang Geun Suk, YoonA, director Yoon Seok Ho, and writer Oh Soo Yeon, it doesn't come as a surprise that “Love Rain” has already secured a Japanese broadcaster.

Kim Young Kwang to play YoonA’s first love in ‘Love Rain’
Actor Kim Young Kwang has confirmed his role as the first love of Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA in the upcoming KBS drama, ‘Love Rain‘.
Kim Young Kwang has become more familiar to the public thanks to his latest drama, ‘Bachelor’s Vegetable Store‘.
He will act in KBS’s Monday-Tuesday drama as ‘Han Tae Sung’, a senior of YoonA’s who’s described to be quiet, but athletic. Kim Tae Sung’s character will be part of the romantic love square involving himself, YoonA, Jang Geun Suk, and Kim Si Hoo.
Kim Young Kwang stated, “It is a honor to work with such a great actors and producers. I will work my best to make this a good production and show a different image to myself. Please cheer me on.”
The drama’s representative stated, “With his tall height and sweet appearance, Kim Young Kwang has been marked as the right person for ‘Han Tae Sung’ right from the planning stages. Since Han Tae Sung is a gentleman, Kim Young Kwang’s aura matches well with it.”
‘Love Rain’ will air after ‘Dream High 2‘ on March 26th.
