Marian Rivera is so engrossed with her new hobby these days: baking!
“Yes! I enjoy it a lot. In fact, I stay up late these days due to this, but no regrets because it gives me a different kind of high. Right now, I’m still perfecting my cupcakes. Many know that in real life, I cook so I guess it won’t be that hard to learn baking further,” she starts.
Interestingly, the popular star hasn’t entered formal school for her latest pastime.
“That’s right! I’m not enrolled in a special course whatsoever. I just read books. But after Amaya wraps up early next year, I plan to attend formal culinary classes to enhance my skills the more!”
Has beau Dingdong Dantes already tasted her cupcakes?
“Oh yes!” reveals Marian. “He says they’re delicious, although I don’t want to believe totally! Ha-ha-ha! Anyway, Dong’s favorite is carrot cake so I already made one for him.
“My grandma also requested for a banana cake one time so I obliged. And how she loved it! I do chocolate chip cookies, too. It gives me utmost joy and fulfillment to see my loved ones enjoying my pastry.”
Many are curious how she got interested in baking.
“Actually, it all started when Dong’s sibling and some of their cousins complained one time that in their culinary course, they always fail in baking. They know that I cook so they shared it with me. I told them it’s just easy to bake. You just have to follow the instructions carefully, prepare the ingredients and see to it that your measurements are right and presto!
“But they still insisted that it’s easier said than done. So I got challenged! I tried to bake and modesty aside, through instinct, passed with flying colors. When they tasted my offering, they loved it instantly.
“Funny, it was even Dong who bought me the cook book. Ha-ha-ha! He challenged me to whip up something delicious. Fortunately, I delivered!
“This is also the case with my grandma who didn’t believe when she first heard that I was baking. She told me to prepare oatmeal cookies. And to know if I could really bake, she viewed me while working, would you believe?”
Some toy with the idea that with her newfound passion in baking, there’s no need to order her own wedding cake in the future.
“Oh please! Ha-ha-ha! I don’t want to look harassed on my special day. I should look beautiful!”
Speaking of marriage, the pretty actress is hopeful that it would really be her and Dingdong eventually.
“That’s my wish. Considering everything that we’ve gone through, a wedding is a fitting culmination. It’s hard to have a new boyfriend. That means starting from scratch once again. If you’ll ask me at this very moment, I want it to be Dong,” ends Marian.
