TOKYO — Rock band GLAY will perform their first outdoor concert in eight years when they play at Nagai Stadium in Osaka on July 28 and 29. Over 100,000 fans are expected to attend the two concerts, promoters say.
The title for the two performances is “GLAY STADIUM LIVE 2012 THE SUITE ROOM in OSAKA NAGAI STADIUM.” The two concerts are subtitled “Super Welcome Party” on July 28, and “Big Surprise Party” on July 29. The group will perform different songs at each concert.
Rock band GLAY will release a new single, titled Bible, on May 23rd.
Bible was the theme song of the band's concert held at Nagai Stadium. It is accompanied on the single by the B-side Ano hi no shounen and the song Thank you for your love, which was released as a digital charity song.
The single will be available in a regular CD-only edition, while the limited edition will come in a cardboard sleeve and will include a DVD featuring a music video and bonus footage.

It’s been announced that GLAY’s upcoming concert, ‘GLAY STADIUM LIVE 2012 THE SUITE ROOM in OSAKA NAGAI STADIUM supported by Glico‘, will be broadcast in movie theaters across Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and South Korea!
Back in 2009, GLAY celebrated their 15th anniversary by holding a concert called ‘THE GREAT VACATION‘ at Nissan Stadium in Yokohama. This concert had the concept, “HOTEL GLAY”, attracting over 150,000 fans.
‘GLAY STADIUM LIVE 2012 THE SUITE ROOM in OSAKA NAGAI STADIUM supported by Glico’ will be held on July 28th and 29th at Nagai Stadium in Osaka. They will follow their previous concept, “HOTEL GLAY”, and will use their latest single, “Bible“, as the theme song. The 28th will be called “Super Welcome Party” and the 29th will be called “Big Surprise Party”.
As the ‘manager of HOTEL GLAY’, leader TAKURO commented, “This summer, GLAY promises a space of entertainment and service from the bottom of our hearts.”
GLAY’s TERU & TAKURO hold acoustic live in Miyagi for disaster victims
On July 15th, GLAY’s TERU and TAKURO held an acoustic live for disaster victims at a hotel in Minamisanriku, Miyagi.
TERU and TAKURO appeared without prior notice, exciting the local guests who were invited to the live. TERU called out, “Minamisanriku!“, and sang a total of 5 songs including “Ikiteku Tsuyosa” and “Bible“.
“It’s important to have a strong determination to change your own environment at your own will,” the two expressed, and promised, “We believe that music can enrich people’s hearts. We hope to become someone’s support through music. We will surely come back to Tohoku as GLAY.“ After the live, TERU and TAKURO met with the disaster victims and took commemorative photos with them.
This live was a part of Glico’s project with the radio program, ‘Yamada Hisashi no Radiunlimited F‘. Since May of last year, a Glico wagon, filled with Glico goods, has been traveling to disaster areas to deliver music and snacks. Details from this live is scheduled to broadcast through the program on July 20th.
GLAY announces “7 surprises” at live event including plans for a new “GLAY EXPO” in 2014 after a 10 year break
Popular rock band GLAY just completed their two-day special live event “GLAY STADIUM LIVE 2012 THE SUITE ROOM in OSAKA NAGAI STADIUM supported by glico”. The first day’s concert was named “SUPER WELCOME PARTY” while the second day’s concert was titled “BIG SURPRISE PARTY”. Just like the name, before their encore performance on the second day, GLAY prepared a surprise announcement for their fans. The words “7 surprises” were projected onto the main screen and guitarist TAKURO’s voice could be heard saying, “We are going to make 7 promises to everybody.” As fans screamed in excitement, TAKURO listed the surprises:
(1) There will be 2 singles (composed by HISASHI and JIRO) released simultaneously at the end of this year.
(2) 2 albums, “JUSTICE” and “GUILTY”, will be released at the same time in next spring.
(3) An arena tour for 250,000 people will be held from February 2013 onwards.
(4) An overseas tour will be held next spring.
(5) An outdoor live will be held in GLAY’s hometown of Hakodate. This will be the largest outdoor live Hakodate has ever seen.
(6) In keeping with their promise since 2005, GLAY will be holding their Tokyo Dome concert.
(7) Finally, in 2014, GLAY will celebrate their 20th debut anniversary by holding the live concert event “GLAY EXPO” in the north-east Tohoku prefectures of Japan.
GLAY held its outdoor exposition and concert event “GLAY EXPO” just three times before in 1999, 2001, and 2004. All three were large scale events and expensively produced. The 1999 event was held in Makuhari, Chiba and attracted 200,000 people, while the 2001 event was held as four concerts in Tokyo, Hokkaido, and Fukuoka, and an estimated 280,000 people attended. This upcoming 2014 “GLAY EXPO” will be held 10 years after the last 2004 exposition at Universal Studios Japan. It’s no wonder the 50,000-strong audience cheered loudly when this 7th surprise was announced.
Vocalist TERU came onstage after the announcement and seemed deeply touched by the cheering. He said, “We are going to make a declaration right here. We will be a band that always keeps our promises. We will not disband. As we fulfill our promises one by one, we want to make new ones and continue to be active always. We will never make you sad.” Hearing this passionate message, some fans even shed tears.
He then continued, “We wanted to give you a surprise that enables you to perceive the future.” Regarding the long-awaited 4th “GLAY EXPO” that will be held during their 20th anniversary, TERU added, “After the Tohoku earthquake disaster, we realized a lot of important things. We have to cherish everyone and love everyone more. To express our love for Tohoku, we are going to sing this song!” GLAY then performed their famous number, “BELOVED”. The audience joined in and 50,000 people sang the song together. The event added with a promise to meet again as TERU yelled out, “For the next two years, let’s live strong and with resolution!”

Back in July, the band held their live event, ‘GLAY STADIUM LIVE 2012 THE SUITE ROOM in OSAKA NAGAI STADIUM supported by Glico‘, where they announced 7 surprises for their fans.
The last time GLAY has simultaneously released two singles was 14 years ago in 1998 with “Yuuwaku” and “SOUL LOVE“. “JUSTICE [from] GUILTY” and “Unmeiron” will be composed by HISASHI (G) and JIRO (B) respectively.
Starting with these releases, GLAY’s label ‘loversoul music & associates‘ will be partnering with Pony Canyon. They will also simultaneously release two new albums, “JUSTICE” and “GUILTY“, early in 2013.

GLAY has released the details on their upcoming two singles, “JUSTICE [from] GUILTY” and “Unmeiron“!
“JUSTICE [from] GUILTY” is described as a solid rock tune composed by HISASHI. For its coupling track, the single will include a refreshing tune about the nostalgic days called “MILESTONE ~Mune Ippai no Yuutsu~” and a remix of “Time for Christmas“, which was included in GLAY’s Christmas mini-album, “Hope and The Silver Sunrise“. It will also contain previews of tracks that will be included in their upcoming albums “JUSTICE” and “GUILTY” that’s scheduled for release early next year. Furthermore, the DVD will enclose music videos and making footage of “JUSTICE [from] GUILTY” as well as a live footage of “SOUL LOVE” from their July concert at Nagai Stadium.
Meanwhile, “Unmeiron” will be composed by JIRO, and it’s said to be a ballad with the theme “ties with people”. The coupling tracks will be a rock number called “4 ROSES” and a new song “Route5 Bayshore Line“, which was performed during at Nagai Stadium in July. In the DVD, you will find the video clip for “Unmeiron” along with a live footage of “Ikiteku Tsuyosa“.

“JUSTICE” and “GUILTY” will simultaneously be released on January 23, 2013. “JUSTICE” is the band’s 11th album and it will also be their 1st album that they fully produced themselves. It will feature a total of 10 tracks including their upcoming singles, “JUSTICE[FROM]GUILTY” and “Unmeiron” (December 5th release).
Meanwhile, their 12th album “GUILTY” will be produced by Sakuma Masahide. It will also contain 10 tracks such as their single “Bible” and an album version of “everKrack” which was included in their mini-album, “G4・II -THE RED MOON-“.
The DVD for both albums will come with a special program of MUSIC ON! TV’s, ‘RX-72‘, hosted by HISASHI (G) and Mogi Junichi. It will also include footage from their upcoming December 10th concert at Zepp DiverCity TOKYO.
It’s been revealed that rock band GLAY will be holding a one-man live in Ofunato City, Iwate and Iwaki City, Fukushima in mid-December.
After the Tohoku Earthquake, GLAY has been involved in various activities to support the victims and the disaster-stricken areas. Their upcoming lives will be held on December 17th at Ofunato Rias Hall, and on the 19th at Iwaki Geijutsu Bunka Kouryu Kaikan Alios Dai Hall. This is the first time the members will visit Ofunato and Iwaki together.
In addition, it’s been confirmed that GLAY’s special live on December 10th at Zepp DiverCity TOKYO will receive a live broadcast. This live will be held for those who purchase their new singles, “JUSTICE [from] GUILTY” and “Unmeiron“, which will be released simultaneously on December 5th. The broadcast will take place via GyaO!, Nico Nico Douga, and Ameba Pigg. More details will be revealed later.
GLAY reveals new artist photo + jacket covers for “JUSTICE” and “GUILTY”
GLAY has revealed a new artist photo as well as jacket covers for their upcoming albums, “JUSTICE” and “GUILTY“.
The new artist photo is an illustration added onto the members’ photos. There are two visuals to represent their two albums. Meanwhile, the jacket covers for “JUSTICE” and “GUILTY” utilize a simple yet colorful design. They will be released simultaneously on January 23rd.
It was also revealed that GLAY will be appearing on Tower Records‘ free magazine ‘tower＋‘, which will be distributed on January 10th. All Tower Records stores will display a solo-cut poster of one member starting January 1st.
Furthermore, GLAY’s song, “Unmeiron“, has been picked up as the theme song for NTV’s morning new program, “Sukkiri!“, for the month of January.

The tour schedule for GLAY’s first Asia tour 「GLAY ASIA TOUR 2013 “JUSTICE & GUILTY”」has been revealed.
This tour will coincide with the release of GLAY’s two albums, “JUSTICE” and “GUILTY“, which will be released simultaneously on January 23rd. They are scheduled to perform in Hong Kong, Seoul, Bangkok, and Taipei.
GLAY has previously performed in Taipei back in 2011, but this will be the band’s first time holding a live in the other countries listed.

GLAY’s 2 albums ranked No. 1 & 2 on Oricon weekly chart
Popular rock band GLAY’s 2 original albums “JUSTICE” and “GUILTY” which were released simultaneously on January 23rd, sold 57,224 copies and 56,627 copies respectively, and monopolized the No.1 and No.2 spot on Oricon weekly album chart.
They have become the 3rd artist (including both male/female solo or group) to monopolize the No.1 and 2 spot of the chart in the first week with original albums, with the feat last achieved by TUBE (in 1994) and L’Arc~en~Ciel (in 1999).
This is also their first time in 2 years and 3 months to top the chart for either single or album since their 10th original album “GLAY” (released in October of 2010), and it’s also their 13th chart topping album.
“JUSTICE” features a total of 10 tracks including singles like “JUSTICE[FROM]GUILTY” and “Unmeiron”, and “GUILTY” also contains 10 tracks including their single “Bible.”
