“TV Asahi Dream Festival 2011″ to feature diverse line-up of artists
TV Asahi’s major concert event of the year, ‘TV Asahi Dream Festival 2011‘ will be held from September 23rd to the 25th at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan.
Much like the station’s popular music program ‘Music Station‘, this year’s event promises a fantastic line-up of artists. Performing on September 23rd will be L’Arc-en-Ciel, Ikimono Gakari, Kuraki Mai, TOKIO, and Unicorn. September 24th will feature Tokyo Jihen, Kato Miliyah, the third-generation J Soul Brothers, Perfume, and RIP SLYME, and September 25th will feature B’z, 9mm Parabellum Bullet, GLAY, CHATMONCHY, Pornograffiti, and ONE OK ROCK. More artists will be added to the September 23 and 24 line-ups as well. Each day of the concert will begin at 3pm, with doors opening at 2pm.
Beginning July 9th, tickets can be pre-ordered on the festival’s official website (Japanese only). Tickets will go on sale to the general public on August 20. A three-day pass for the show will cost 9000 yen (~$111).
On July 30th and 31st, GLAY have been playing their "HAPPY SWING 15th Anniversary SPECIAL LIVE" at Makuhari Messe Hall, where they surprised their audience with a number of cover songs.
From their own repertoire they presented four cover songs, including Arashi's "Love So Sweet" and the "Angel Thesis" from popular anime Neon Genesis Evangelion.
The stage that day had been set up for in 360 degree for the fans to be as close as possible and making it a very special performance.
"A lot of things have happened, but thanks to the continuous support of the people here, we have reached our 15th Anniversary. Five years from now, when we are celebrating our 20th anniversary, we would like to earnestly face music and our fans", TERU eventually said at the end of the performance with a wide smile.
GLAY to release three new singles over three months
Rock group GLAY will be releasing three new singles back-to-back, starting in October. The first single titled, “G4・II -THE RED MOON-“, will be released on October 5th.
The title of the single is a sequel to 2006’s “G4“, and will contain four new songs that each of the members wrote themselves. The jacket covers will come with four special solo shots, where fans will get to choose which member they want on their cover.
The single will be released in preparation for their nationwide tour, “GLAY HIGH COMMUNICATIONS TOUR 2011-2012 ‘RED MOON & SILVER SUN’“, and will be released only on ‘GLAY Official Store G-DIRECT‘, which will open on August 12th. This plan was put into effect based on loversoul music & associates’s idea: “Depending on the time, a single should be released with a plan.”
In November, GLAY will release the second of their three singles. This single will be released as usual through CD shops as “a work that has a meaning of delivering extensively to the world.”
