Coffee Prince 1-Episode Extension Confirmed, Friday August 10, 2007 Korea
MBC's Monday-Tuesday dramaCoffee Prince Store #1, which has been enjoying favorable responsethese days from viewers, has reached a final decision to extend theseries by one episode and a broadcast special.
Apparentlythe PD, Lee Yoon Jung, resisted extension of the series three times. Ithas become commonplace for broadcast stations to jump to extend seriesthat perform well to increase ad revenue, but there is a verylegitimate fear that being quick to extend a series can ruin thecareful momentum that has garnered the series its positive response inthe first place. It's for this reason that PD Lee has repeatedlydeclined to extend the series, even by only one episode. However, shehas ultimately agreed.
Thearticle also goes on to heap copious (and well-deserved) praise on PDLee, saying that even with the series' talented acting, writing, andproduction, without her superb directorial/filming skills, and herpersonal mark all over the series (down to the excellent musicselections), the success of Coffee Prince would not have been possible.

YEHwho's gained enormous popularity through "Coffee Prince" has filed the2nd certification of contents (COC) to cancel her contractual agreementwith her management company, 8 Peaks.
When asked to reveal theinformation behind the 2nd COC, YEH's side advised, if 8 Peaks refusesto cancel the contract then we will not hesitate to take it furtherwith a lawsuit, suing them for this refusal.
The contents of the1st COC stated that in January 2007, YEH was confirmed to be starringin the MBC drama "Que Sera Sera" and had even participated andcompleted the script reading/practising for the upcoming drama shoot.However, 8 Peaks had cancelled YEH's involvement in QSS in order forYEH to star in 8 Peaks' self produced drama.
Consequently, after thecancellation of YEH's QSS involvement, YEH took a 2 day vacation toKangwon-Do in March. 8 Peaks claimed that they had no knowledge of thisso-called incident and spread the news of YEH's irresponsibilityonline. Hence, promoting a bad image of YEH.
In regards to the above, 8 Peaks has announced that it is "far from the truth".
YEH'smanager, Park Geun-Soo has informed us that "the 2nd COC includesevidence to support the disagreeable actions made by 8 peaks. Theseactions include the inproper handling and distribution/division ofearnings and proceeds as well as the unilateral (one-sided) manner ofmaking and carrying out decisions which have caused immense problems.There are plenty more which we will argue through one by one. Bothsides are now at the stage of irrefutable differences, and we both knowit will be difficult to settle the separation without the courts."
ParkGeun-Soo also added that "YEH still hasnt confirmed the castingcontract with Coffe Prince's distribution company MBC, however verysoon the contract will be confirmed and complete, with both partiesagreeing to 20 million won (approx USD$20,000) per episode.
Inresponse to rumours circulating that Park Geun-Soo is receiving his payfrom YEH's own pockets, Park revealed that "this rumour is not true andwe havent even looked into YEH's next project. I dont even know howthis rumour came about."
Park also frustrated the fact thatthere are quite a few rumours circulating around due to the strongtensions between YEH and 8 Peaks.
Further to this, In responseto the 2nd COC, 8 Peaks has advised that "due to a recent change inbusiness administrator, we have yet to come to understand some issueswhich were risen in the past. If we had known these issues, this matterwouldnt have gone this far. We will read through the 2nd COC andannounce our company's stand point in this matter."
YEH's Severe headaches brings health level, to an alarming red
Onthe 9th of Aug, a source close to Yoon Eun Hye advised us that YEH isusing her free time to go to the doctors to treat her severely intenseheadaches.
The same source advised us that "in the set YEH isnot showing these signs of pains, but during her her free time or whentravelling between sets, her headaches intensify and her overallcondition is poor."
The source also added the fact that "the doctorshave diagnosed the headaches as being due to extreme exhaustion andfatigue. the doctors have confirmed that although the pains arentsevere enough to stop YEH from filming, it will definately worsen YEH'scondition on the set."
If YEH's health deteriorates any furtherthen the shooting of the additional episode will be left unconfirmed.Soit seems, the final decision to add the extra episode is up to YEH'ssign of approval and agreement.

fairly complete EPISODE 13 SUMMARY
theepisode started off where the preview left off where eunchan's pouringthe coffee (i liked how this episode had more emphasis on the coffeeelement esp. with the angel latte art later on although i doubt it wasreally eunhae who did it)
HK asks eunchan to go on a date with him
eunchanrefuses at first because she's supposed to go home and do piecework butthen eunchan's like where - shopping? movies? musical? and HK was likeat my house?
i don't know i'm just guessing XD
ES and MY go on their date
and ES chucks the whole i'm-a-princess, treat me like one
she'sjust walking along the street and gets tired, so MY takes out theportable chair inthe middle of the street and lets her sit
that's just...O_o?
andthen they eat dukbukki at the sidestore and ES makes MY wash down thespiciness and even after that she just spits it out and i'm surprisethe store owner didn't just slap her across the face -.-
it was kind of frustrating.
EC and HK
so they do the whole eating noodles thing (from the long preview) where they play the 5 character game
AND then the brush their teeth and they synchronise their spitting intervals...hhahaha
and then it's the icecream bed scene where HK asks EC if she would go to the US with her
they have their little discussion on the politics of sleeping together, living together and getting married
HK gives her the little peck on the cheek
and nothing happens after that; sorry to disappoint
the scene fades to the morning where EC is eating at home
[eunhae ate the whole episode away - rice squared, fruit, fried chicken, she ate the WHOLE episode]
and then i think she's talking about going to america with HK
and ES gets pissed, and the mother kind of scolds ES - i'd like to know the motivation behind the argument though
HR gives MY advice on ES and sets him up on a blind date with this random girl
andthey feed each other pieces of melon on the end of toothpicks? XD kindof...MY can't go all the way yet...not with the melon, no.
hahahah
ESrings MY and MY hangs up on her so ES gets pissed and goes off to MR.Butcher for some advice before her mum comes out and shoos ES home
the mum tries to talk to the butcher; but the butcher pretends he wants none of it when we all know he wants it all
not much happening with Mr. Butcher and EC's mum this episode
then we see a shot of Sunki walking up to his ex-girlfriends apartment
and the girl's like O_O
and sunki says something. but he looks hot while saying it so it doesn't matter what he said
yes it does. but for the purposes of this summary it doesn't...
so i dont' know. his hair really frustrated me though, it was half over his face
like if this was his face (__), his hair was like (_|_) and that just looks like a bum.
and then there was the whole scenario with HK and finding out his birth father
i actually didn't like how the PD cut this scene, it seemed like random scenes put together; not really joined
but i guess it might be better watching it with the chinese subs tomorrow
itwas really sudden, i wish halmoni has prepper him more; but it was kindof dropped on him as if she expected that he would be okay with it
after HK finds out and sheds a tear for his mother? his situation? we see him at another sidewalk store drinking with his father
they have a chat, and i think we finally out the details of his adoption.
HK rings EC just as she's arriving home on her scooter
and EC's like I'll be there in 3 minutes (another guess in the air)
EC goes to HK's place, and they're lying on opposite ends of his couch, EC eating fried chicken
they talk about stuff while she eats, and then HK tells her about his adoption
EC puts down her food (and we know only HK can separate her from her food) and all she does is listen to him talk
before she goes into a long hug
it was really sweet and awwwwwwww....because EC's being an understand girlfriend
and then they're both outside where the white pebbles are
and EC's playing with the lego, building things
and they're still having a conversation; although i can't rmeember what they were talking about
but at this point HK moves closer so that he kind of encloses EC in his sitting position
and then afterwards they both lie down on the wooden floor and push each other's legs around
before HK hurts himself with the lego
there'sa few random scenes in between with EC and her mother talking (andeating) and then HK and HIS mother talking (the one that's alive) andwhatnot but those aren't really interesting unless you know whatthey're saying
but it shows that both of them have families that love them; and i guess it's going to play out later
when their families oppose?
at one point while at the coffee shop HK realises how everyone orders EC around
and he kind of gets protective of her
sohe tells everyone off (this is after HR gives EC a lecture about guysand their hormones and HR and HK argue about who has "My-Chan" rights)it's so funny because HK kind of does an X and implies that now thatEC's a girl it's handsoff <3
and after this, everyone goes up to the attic: MY with an umbrella, HR with a small fan and SK with a cold drink
all at EC's service and she's kind of embarassed and sheepish but at the same time i think she enjoys it
HS goes home
and finds YJ's luggage there
he goes to his room and finds her sleeping there like a princess with the light shiining on her
hesmiles with tears in his eyes that she's returned (i really liked thisscene; because i could feel his happiness just like when HK smiles whenhe feels the EC love)
YJ finds herself waking up in his arms and when HS wakes up she's gone...
to the patio
they hang out and brunch and HS asks her where she went, and i think she mentioned the sea
HS rings HK or HK rings HS i forget
but i think HS invites him to a party with YJ
and HK is really happy for his hyung that his back together with YJ
HK invites EC as well; and EC hesitates because she doesn't know if YJ wants her there (another guess)
later on, we realise that HK's real dad is leaving
HKtells EC, who on the morning of HK's biological dad's departure goes toHK's apartment and sticks up party rings? and hwaiting messages
HK, on seeing this, goes to the airport and has some final words with his dad
hisdad leaves, but not before sharing a manly father-to-sonhandshake...this had to be awkward because they're blood related butthey aren't much more then acquintances. to me, it was done well.
HK is driving back to the coffee shop (i think)
and he rings EC
he tells her he loves her, misses her and i'm just making this up but that's what it sounded it
it was just sweet
and the episode ends with him smiling like an idiot
